Hi everyone!
Just got back from free dining, upgraded to deluxe!!! A looooootttttt of food! Here are a couple of reviews. It was DH (34) and I (31).
Tokyo Dining for dinner:
DH: Shrimp cocktail, Bento Box (assortment of trad. food), ginger cake
Me: Tempura appetizer, Ginza Gozen (sushi and tempura), green tea pudding
We both loved this restaurant. The food is really good. My husband is not a big asian fan but he really enjoyed the flavors. He loved the Bento Box. The tempura is really good...but after an appetizer I had enough tempura. I didn't care for the green tea pudding. The chocolate ginger cake was much better. It really is a nice restaurant and the service is exceptional. I would recommend it
Coral Reef for lunch:
DH: Lobster soup, Grilled NY steak, Chocolate Wave
Me: New England Cod Cake, Lobster Salad, Chocolate Wave
First of all, beautiful restaurant. We were not seated by the aquarium but our view was great. My husband loved the lobster soup but did not really care for the steak, even though he loves steak. On the other hand, my cod cake and especially my lobster salad were fantastic!! We didn't really like the chocolate wave. It was really ordinary, must of been an off day for the desert fairies
I don't believe we would return to this restaurant. We found it was really expensive for what they serve (95.24$).
California Grill for dinner:
DH: Triple cheese flatbread, Oak fire filet of beef, Banana Custard
Me: Spicy Sensation, Pork Tenderloin, Chocolate temptation
We were seated by the window with a view of Magic Kingdom....what a great start. This was my husband's favorite restaurant of our trip. Everything was fantastic. For the sushi fans, do try the spicy sensation.tooo die for!! The filet of beef was so tender and my pork was out of this world. We were so full by the time desert came, we hardly touched it. I would highly recommend this restaurant. It is totally worth 2 credits per meal required.
Chefs de France for lunch:
DH:Soupe à l'oignon gratinée, Cote de boeuf, profitéroles
Me: Soupe à l'oignon gratinée, gratin de macaroni, Crème brulée
Each time we go to WDW we go to Chefs de France. The food is really good. They have the best onion soup and I had always wanted to try their macaroni with gruyère cheese. Well, I was really disappointed. It was really bland. My DH Cote de boeuf on the other hand was great, and the sauce is really good. For the deserts, we both loved them. But I have to say the profitéroles were outstanding with the chocolate sauce. We will be going back
Nacoossee's for dinner:
DH: Seasonal Salad, Surf and Turf, Chocolate almond gateau
Me: Calamari app, Whole Maine Lobster, Almond Cheesecake
Gotta start buy telling you this was like being in heaven for me. I adore seafood. My calamari was wonderful. I was a little nervous about the lobster...but OMG....no words ca describe how tasty it is. My DH had the Surf and Turf and enjoyed it. But when you compare both lobsters..that's when you appreciate the whole lobster. The tail of the S/T is more rubbery (if that's a word). The almond cheesecake was really good, but again the chocolate gateau was ordinary (like at the coral reef). This was my favorite restaurant of the trip. I still dream of that calamari and lobster
Spoodles breakfast:
We were staying at the BC and decided to have a quick breakfast at spoodles. Well, that was a big mistake. I knew it didn't have great reviews for breakfast, but I said to myself how bad can it be, it's breakfast. We were not impressed. I had the breakfast platter and my DH had the Italian Breakfast. Do not go there for breakfast, (there dinner's are good though) ...it's really really ordinary.
Crystal Palace for lunch:
We did not really care for the food here. They do have alot of choices and the salads were not bad. But overall, not impressed. We will not be going back.
JIKO for dinner:
DH: Lamb Patis, Oak Grill Filet Mignon, Crème brulée
Me: BBQ chicken flatbread, Swahili curry shrimp, crème brulée
Again, very beautiful restaurant. Love the decor. The food was fantastic and delicious. The lamb patis was great, the filet great. My BBq flatbread was good, I was expecting a little more...but still wonderful. Now the swahili shrimp was out of this world, if you want to try something differant and spicy. We both loved the crème brulée. We will also be going back to this restaurant.
Hope you enjoyed the reviews
