We returned this week from a great birthday trip! I'm going to try and tell all of the information in one big post, but this first one will start with the "where" so people can scan for the places they want to know about. Most of the meals were just me and DH. The first two included my mother, sister and 5 yr. old niece too.

So here's the list before I start the reviews:

TS - Hollywood and Vine, CRT breakfast, 1900 Park Fare, LeCellier, Donald's Breakfastosaurus, Kona Cafe, CRT Dinner, Crystal Palace

CS - Sassagoula Food Court at POFQ, Casey's Corner, Columbia Harbour House, Sunshine Seasons

Reviews coming soon.....

I'll start with the TS meals, then do the CS and snacks afterwards.
For TS I will rate on a scale of 1-5, and just one general overall score, not split up based on atmosphere, etc. We had fine atmosphere and pretty good service everywhere, so it's mostly based on food. We saved LOTS of money with our DDE card on this trip. We even were given gift cards at CRT for the difference since we had already prepaid. (I tried to do all that on the phone, but the CMs never understood what I was asking.) But I apparently lost a bunch of reciepts somehow, so I am not gonna deal with the money. If you have questions about cost, PM me.

March 30 - DH, Mom, sister(Amy), niece (Abby), and me.
Hollywood and Vine Fantasmic Package - This is one of those hit or miss places in my opinion. This was the third time we've eaten here - the first time was not good at all, the second was outstanding, this time just okay for us. My sister LOVED it, and other seemed generally pleased. I was not so impressed this time. That's the problem with the changing buffets. It was okay, nothing bad, just not great this time. Nothing really stood out to be noted. 3 out of 5

March 31 - All 5 of us again.
CRT Breakfast - This was the first time we got the breakfast, and really we were all quite impressed. I know a lot of people feel the new price increase isn't worth it, but I still think it is. At WDW you pay for more than the food, and it was all really great. First of all, I don't think I mentioned it was a DOUBLE birthday thing while my niece was there. She was celebrating her 5th birthday and I was there for my 25th birthday. Anyway, when you first enter, you get in line to have your pictures made with Cinderella, which is nice. Once we got upstairs, our server gave Abby and I a magical moments certificate already signed by Cinderella for our birthdays, and a pen for the other characters to sign it as well. We had mickey confetti and decorations on our table too, and Abby got the wand and wishing star that is included with the meal. When you first sit down, they bring juice and baskets of pastries, and a couple bowls of fresh fruit to the table. The baskets had varied things, like cinnamon rolls and muffins, and were all REALLY good. And the fruit was really fresh and yummy too. We could have filled up on those things alone! I requested water instead of juice and the waiter brought it promptly. The food is a choice of a cold or hot breakfast. The cold was a HUGE bowl of granola with yogurt and fruit on top. The hot was a HUGE plate of potatos, eggs, bacon, sausage, and some french toast puff things. I got the cold breakfast, everyone else the hot. Everyone ate lots of food and enjoyed it....DH says this was his favorite breakfast, and he is a breakfast person. I didn't eat much of my granola, but it had peach yogurt, and I'm not big on peach. I didn't consider the possible flavors of yogurt. It was still good though, and the fruit on top was really good. Each character (Fairy Godmother, Snow White, Aurora, and Belle) came around the table, took pictures with Abby and me and signed our cards. Then at the end of our meal, the server brought me and Abby little chocolate birthday cakes and sang happy birthday and all that jazz. They were okay, but a bit too much sugar for that early in the morning so we only ate a couple bites. We also recieved our photo packages which were very nice. They come in a nice folder with a picture of the castle, one 8 x 10 and then 4 4x6 prints as well. We really enjoyed this meal. I would probably say 5, but I personally liked some of our other breakfasts better, so I'm gonna go with 4.5! :)

1900 Park Fare - Last meal with all 5 of us. This is basic buffet food, which again I think makes it hit or miss as it changes. Everyone else seemed to find lots of foods they liked. I did not. However, they have a raisin bread that is to die for. I almost made an entire meal of raisin bread and the strawberry soup! I had a little of the various salads, spring rolls, and pastas, but the bread and strawberry soup were delicious. DH and my mom enjoyed the desserts mostly. Abby hardly ate. My sister got one of the specialty drinks, but as she drank it, it got too strong. Nothing much else exciting at this restaurant. Our server here was not good either. It took forever for her to show up for anthing. I think we only saw her 2 times during the meal. I would give this one a 3 out of 5.

More to come....

April 1 - me and DH
LeCellier - Ahh...the reviews on here are not lying. This place is great! This was our first time at LeCellier, and it was fantastic. I had already told DH how good the steaks looked on the food porn thread, so that's what he was going for. I knew I HAD to try the maple creme brulee, so I wasn't going to fill up beforehand! We ordered the cheese soup for the appetizer to go with our bread. DH liked it better as a soup than a dip, but I liked it more as a dip for my bread. We both liked the pretzel bread, but I was a little partial to the sourdough. Then DH ordered the New York Strip well done, and I ordered the Caesar Salad (saving room for dessert, remember!). His steak come with roasted potatoes that were okay, but that steak was soooo good! I had a few bites and it was delicious! DH liked it too, it tied or was just below his favorite steak ever (which was the filet at CRT dinner that had a wine sauce...he loved that sauce on it.). So, still not better than the discontinued CRT steak, but close. I thought it was WAY better. My Salad was okay - it was HUGE, so I only ate like 1/3 of it anyway. The croutons were really good...I just am not a big fan of the caesar dressing they use at WDW. It's just alright. So, after eating the bread, and the soup and some salad and some steak....we ordered the Dessert Trio Sampler! It had a rasberry sorbet, chocolate whiskey cake, and maple creme brulee. I took a little taste of the sorbet, which was good, but mainly went for that creme brulee. DH devoured the chocolate cake and took a couple little bites of the sorbet. Before we were even halfway through the desserts, our waitress had seen my birthday pin and brought out a HUGE birthday dessert for me....so count them, we had FOUR desserts on our table! :rotfl: The one she brought out was a chocolate mousse inside a dark chocolate bowl/shell with raspberries and a sauce drizzled all over. I only took one bite (and I am normally a chocolate lover, but for some reason, I was not in the mood for chocolate...I was happy with my creme brulee). DH also devoured it...as he was saying he was sooo stuffed! Anyway, one of the highlights of our trip. Great food, atmosphere, service, everything. 5 out of 5.

April 2
Donald's Breakfastosaurus - Although many on here dislike this place, it's one of our favorites. This is our third time to go and we really enjoy it. They have a great variety of foods DH likes (eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, etc.) and a variety of food I like (pancakes, muffins, donuts, yogurt, coffee cake). I actually ate less on this visit than usual, but it was still yummy. Our server also brought me a birthday card signed by Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Pluto, which is cool, and sang Happy Birthday to me. Lots of fun, great characters and food. Solid 4 out of 5

April 3 - My birthday!
Kona Cafe - I had read a lot about this restaurant on the disboards, and was VERY excited to try it. We're hoping to try dinner there soon. But for this trip, was breakfast for the Tonga Toast for me, and the Big Kahuna for DH. He was pretty happy with his giant plate of food, and commented on the eggs being really good - different somehow but he didn't know what it was. My Tonga Toast was soooo good as most of you know. DH being the french toast man he is even tried the edge of it (he doesn't like bananas) and claimed it had a good flavor, even with the hint of banana. I thought it was wonderful, as was the ham it came with. Definitely my favorite breakfast. 5 out of 5(for breakfast).

CRT Dinner - We waited a bit long for this meal unfortunately, as we had to wait for Cinderella to come out for pictures and I guess for the change over to dinner. Still only about 15-20 minutes I think, but we were hungry so it felt longer. We had our pictures made and then went up to be seated. They put confetti on the table again, but that was all. I didn't want more as I had already done the birthday thing at breakfast a couple days before. I thought the food was excellent, and DH enjoyed his as well. At dinner you have the choice of an appetizer, entree and dessert, and order them all at once. We both got the BLT salad for appetizer, which was really really great. The bacon was good, the dressing was good and light. I was worried about the onions in it, because I don't like onions, but they were not in the way and I really enjoyed the salad. For the entree, DH ordered pork tenderloin which came with a cheese casserole thing. I ordered the cheese tortellini, as I wanted to be sure I would have room for the dessert. DH really liked the pork and the gravy like sauce on top, but isn't big on casseroles. I really liked my tortellini, but left most of the vegetables in the bowl so I could eat lots of dessert. ;) The dessert for me was worth the moeny all on it's own...DH got the chocolate cake and liked it. I got the blueberry buckle crumb cake which comes with lemon ice cream on top...and it was divine! I ate every single bite and have thought about that dessert every day since. Boy was it yummy! Fabulous! We also got the photo package and the lithograph - which we thought was very nice! Great dinner. 4.5 out of 5 (dessert 10 out of 5  ).

April 4 - This was our departure day, we had breakfast before leaving
Crystal Palace - We had never done CP for breakfast before, only dinner. It was almost a tie with Kona for my favorite this trip. I really really loved this breakfast! They had fresh fruit, puffed french toast, croissants, eggs, sausage, bacon, hashbrowns, pancakes, etc. Lots of choices, and it was all really good. Of course, I love Pooh, so that doesn't hurt. I had confetti and streamers on the table when we got there and Tigger was excited for me on my birthday. The server brought me a card signed by the characters and a cupcake too. It was a great ending to the trip. Really good food. 4.5 out of 5.

Counter Service and snacks - ratings on counter service are 1 to 5 but based on counter service food, so 5 on this is not equivalent to 5 on the TS review section.

Sassagoula Food Court (POFQ) - We ate here twice during the trip and both times were quite good. The first day we split a turkey sub, as it was late for lunch and we had an early dinner scheduled. It was pretty good, nothing special. 3 out of 5. The second time was really good IMO, but partially because I just really wanted a burger, and they make them fresh and it was just so delicious. It's in my top 3 burgers of all times...DH had a hot dog. He wasn't too excited either way, as he was in the midst of a terrible sore throat and moving into a cold. I tasted it...not as good as Casey's. 4 out of 5.

Columbia Harbour House - This is one of our favorite CS places. Especially in the quiet rooms upstairs. DH got the Garden Galley salad, I got the starboard deck sandwich without the broccoli slaw. I love that sandwich and the yummy olive bread it comes on. Great meal. DH thought the salad was okay, but he didn't like a lot of the stuff that was on it. Not the best for him, great for me, so I'll mix that into the score - 3.5 out of 5.

Sunshine Seasons - This was the first time we've eaten here since it changed. We got a turkey sub (as it said on the menu, but the reciept says turkey muffaletta.) It was plain basic sandwich, except it had some kind of spread on it, or it was in the bread that made it amazing. It was a parmesan-ish yummy flavor to it, but I couldn't figure out what it was making it so good. It was delicious though...I ate more of the sandwich than DH. DH also got a small side salad that he liked and I got a pasta salad that was pretty good. We really liked this CS. 5 out of 5.

Casey's Corner - A favorite for us and must-do on our trips. We split corn dog bites, fries, and a brownie. All of it was delicious...we love Casey's. 5 out of 5 including location - we ate in the little rose garden in the shade, it was so peaceful....fabulous!

Snacks - We didn't do many snacks on this trip as usual. I bought candy from every country in Epcot, but I'm still working on trying those. Dh got popcorn, and we split an ice cream sandwich. At Fantasmic we got nachos, but my cheese tasted a little weird....so I mostly just ate the chips. Nothing special from the snack area this time around.

So that's it...let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks for the reviews. It osunds as if you had a great trip!
I like Columbia Harbour House also.

great reviews! did you tell the CM when making reservations that it was a birthday? How do you get away with birthday every day I thought that you could only celebrate one day. do you have to show id for birthday pins? It will be my birthday when there but my
ds's twins will have their 13th just before we go so would like to celebrate with them as well. Can we get them birthday pins too.
Please share I would like to celebrate at a few different places and only thought that you could do this on an actual birthday.

Nope...you can celebrate all days...they actually say "Close enough" if you tell them the actual day. :) We noted on some of the reservations that it was a birthday, but not all. Sometimes when you tell them it's a birthday they'll do stuff, sometimes they don't. And then there are some like at LeCellier where we didn't tell them at all, and they noticed on their own and do something for you. You don't have to show ID for the pins either, you just say, can I have a birthday pin? And they say sure and give you one. It just depends on the CMs at the restaurant as to what you get that's special, it's nothing guaranteed whether you tell them or not.

Thanks for taking the time to post such detailed reviews, I enjoyed reading them. :goodvibes

Thanks for the reviews. I have been on the fence if I am going to book an ADR for CRT breakfast, and after reading your review I think I decided to go for it. Ive heard lots of bad reviews about it, but I think those were mainly from repeat visitors there. Thanks for the review!

Augh, now I'm torn about 1900 dinner. I haven't read any good reviews lately... hm. Thankfully we have sometime before we go to make up our mind.

Thanks for the reviews!

Blue and white.

Thank you for the reviews. I've been debating trying 1900 too. I'll probably switch it since I'm the only one in our family that wants to see Cindy. I agree with your DH on Kona's eggs, their delicious.
