We were there in February. My dh's meal was good, nothing special. I had a platter combo (sorry, can't remember the name) which included a steak and that steak was one of the two best steaks I've ever had in my life. My dd -- aka Miss Picky Princess -- actually ended up eating a lot of my steak and just this weekend was reminiscing about how that was the best steak she'd ever eaten.

I love Disney, but I think that the consistency of quality in their restaurants has a lot of room for improvement. I had a great experience at Prime Time once and a fairly lousy one the next and so on. There is so much variation in experiences, it's hard to say whether you'll encounter 'good' restaurant or 'bad' restaurant. I think it's something Disney needs to focus on.

Really cool atmosphere where you feel like to are eating at the foot of a volcano, outside with live music. One of the better themed resturants I have been to and I feel underated in this aspect. (Also a great way to let your food settle before heading back outside is the ride next to the resturant. It is not the most exciting thing at Disney but it is relaxing and I did nto see a line at all).

The food was pretty authentic and somewhere slightly above avg for this cuzine. So if you really like Mexican, or are looking for a bit of a unique meal. I say go for it. Even with the avg food the atmosphere puts it over the top.

We were just there on Friday. I think it's beautiful inside, which is why we finally decided to try it. Food was just OK. It was not bad, not great. I was surprised it was quite bland actually. We thought the chilaquiles they served at the F&W booth right outside were actually much better. Service was fine, tables are very close together.

The theme/ambience is fantastic, the food is above average.
We have been there each of the last 3 times we visited.

We liked it. I wouldn't say it's "destination dining", but the food is tasty and the setting is amazing (IMHO). I didn't find it too dark at all. We were able to get a same day ADR there for our trip last January. It occurred to me today that I may judge on a different scale for those restaurants that I booked 6 months in advance. For the ones we booked late on a whim, I don't know, I think I'm just happy we got the reservation and had a nice place to sit down and relax!

Anyway, if you're counting on it being the highlight of the trip, I would say that's probably not going to happen. If you're looking for tasty food in a really cool setting, that's much more likely.

I had the vegetarian platter, and I don't remember much about it. To me, it seemed like fairly standard tex-mex food. My husband had the Pollo las Rajas (I think it's called), and I thought it was really good. We bought one of the Disney cookbooks that has the recipe for that. Haven't gotten around to making it though.

I will say that while nothing about it really wowed me, we enjoyed it well enough that I thought seriously about booking it again for the next trip. I think it just felt like a really, relaxing comfortable dinner.

DH and I ate there last Wednesday. I had no complaints about the food...it was really good, except for dessert, which was just *ok* at best. I had Sopa Azteca and Tacos al Pastor. The sopa was delicious! The avocados in it were really good. I also loved the pineapple salsa for the tacos. My bread pudding, like I said, wasn't all that great. DH had Sope Tradicional, which he really liked, and then Pollo a las Rajas, which he complained was too spicy. I tried it though and LOVED it. He ordered the Flan for dessert and did not like it at all.

The atmosphere was gorgeous! We were fortunate enough to get a table for two right in the corner of the balcony on the water.

The service was not so good. They were super slow at refilling our drinks, and we weren't even halfway through the appetizer when they brought our meal. They also rushed our dessert out and just seemed in an overall hurry to get us out of there. We dined at 1:30...I guess that's a pretty busy time.

So overall, it was pretty good. I don't think I'll go there again just because I would like to try some other WS restaurants next time.
