Please post recent reviews for San Angel Inn. I am trying to determine whether or not I will change my ADR. Thank you!:confused3

We were there about a month and a half ago( me, DH, and 4 teens!) and we thought it was very good. I was a little nervous myself about picky teens and whether or not this would be a good choice. The food wasn't the typical mexican food we get here in the south, but I was a great choice. And hey, how can you go wrong with steak! Hope this helps.

We were thre 9/26.

I thought it was pretty good. I wasn't "blown away" but everything I had was good, and I loved the atmosphere.

I'd go back again some time in the future :thumbsup2

Its probably in my top four favorites of WDW restaurants. I have eaten there several times, never had a bad meal or bad service and the atmosphere reminds my family of Blue Bayou in Disneyland which is nice. Mexican food is very subjective. It has many different varieties and so people who are used to the style their local favorite serves, may find San Angel different and therefore disappointing. It is not Tex Mex which seems to be the most popular form of Mexican food found in the U.S.

And while they do serve Tostitos brand chips (that gets a ton of flack around here) I find the rest of the food very authentic. The sauces are good and the filet is wonderful.

I say give it a try, you won't know if its a favorite of yours until you do!

I guess I can say I liked the food okey......but .....I would like to see what I am eating and it is to dark for me.....

I just ate there last Sunday. We eat there every trip! It's a must for us. I always get the same thing because I love it so much, but the atmosphere is really great and my family has never complained about the food. We all love it, which is why we keep going back.

Check some of the other strings about the San Angel Inn - many of us give it a big thumbs down!! We've been twice - last time the food was horrible, service was absolutely disgusting (if you could get your server to actually come back to your table and wait on you you were lucky!!) and I told DH I would never, ever go back in there again to eat. If I want that type of food from now on I'll get a Margarita at the Cantina outside the San Angel and sit there & people watch. The food outside is 100% better than what we received inside!! JMHO..........:rolleyes1

We've eaten there every trip and have never been disappointed by the quality of food or the portion size. The atmosphere with the backdrop is very interesting. My only criticism is the tables are very close together. It was tough when my daughter was still in a high chair. But after all these years, I still make it a must-eat stop.

We just ate there this past Sunday too.

The food is decent, the atmosphere is awesome. My DH absolutely loved it, but loved the counter service at Cantina San Angel even better.

My DS and I thought it was good, but a little bland compared to what we are use to. They do not over do it with sauces, cheese, peppers and onions or anything, it is fairly plain.

I would do it for the atmosphere if nothing else (it is really cool) and they have great Margaritas if you like them.

My DW and I have been eating at the San Angel Inn for over 15 years now, and find it to consistently be one of our favorite places. The food is a wee bit bland sometimes, but hey, this is Disney. The do not serve the fire breathing red sauce that I had on our trip to Sante Fe a couple of weeks ago, but it's good food.

Ok will try and be fair. gorgeous setting if a bit dim and busy, but you can move your lamp around on the table to read your menu better. Service was prompt and helpful, didn't wait long to be seated. nachos and salsa tasted like any you could buy. mango margherita was outstanding. Had the tortilla soup starter which was wonderful, would defrinately eat that again. main course had the plato mexicano which was not to my taste at all. It seemed bland, overcooked and like it may have sat for a while. Dish should come with refried beans and I had to ask for some to be brought. My friend had the same main and felt rather ill afterwards. We thought that the food at the counter service outside was much more enjoyable and more reasonable and I wouldn't pay the san Angel prices ever again for something I could have got outside. Some piccies for you:

It always amazes me when people love a restaurant and I am left scratching my head. I do not care for this restaurant at all, I think it is generic Mexican food, very dark, and just chaotic with not great service. The food served leaves me wondering why I went there when I have so many other choices. We have officially crossed this one off our list of restaurants that we frequent when in WDW.

I do usually have lunch here. Usually have the taco salad

But after I book lunches at LeCellier and Rose & Crown and in Nov also Akerhaus and Marakesh

Just ate there in September. The food was okay, but the atmosphere is the winner! It is so cool and relaxing in there. We had a nice time. Nachos and Cerveza! If you have never been, I think it is worth a looksee.

It's too darn dark! The food is just ok.
OP, what ADR are you considering changing?

Aside from the atmosphere, which is my favorite for Disney restaurants, this past trip when I dined there October 9th, I thought it was the best meal of the whole trip, I loved it! Fantastic. I was very pleasantly surprised.

I have eaten there about five times. It used to be one of my favorites. However, we were there in Sept. and it was terrible! I was so disappointed. The menu had changed and IMO it was very limited. We both ordered steak dishes and they were really bad. We basically picked at it. The service was awful. We agreed that we would not be eating there again.

San Angel is one of my favorites. I always try to eat there for lunch or dinner when I am at Epcot. I am stuck on one dish there however. I really like the Pollo a las Rajas. I can't seem to get enough of that dish. The atmosphere is great, IMHO. It is very dark, I agree with that assessment, but it sort of needs to be to get the full affect of the background and theming of dining at night outside (although of course you are inside).
