I'm looking for any reviews or reports on the tween club. My son will be 11 on our cruise and we were looking for some reviews from parents of tweens. Thanks!

I'm interested in this too. My DD is excited about The edge, but I've read up on it and checked out the pics and I just don't see it. Lots of video games and not much else. She's not into video games.

Would love to hear if there are actual activities they do together, of if The Edge is just a place to "hang out."

are we talking about Edge in general or the club on specific ship?

If OK with the review/impression from Edge on Magic, I can give some feedback.

My DD11 had blast, she is still talking about the club. They had some trivia/game going on constantly. And more than that, the club was the place to meet and go other place, such as pool, lunch etc for gals. They just met up there, and went somewhere. So,no check-in/out processes worked out better for them.

I saw that there were some kids who just had played video games all the time, but most of them just used the club as the meeting place. they also generally went back to their room around 10:30-11:00PM. They did not stay at club until midnight. I saw my DD and her friends hanging around hot tub, lunch buffet, and now(after cruise) in cyberspace(seems like communicating by e-mail. great way to keep relationship!)

I have DD9 and 5 who went to Oceaneer Lab/Club. But ,as kids club, Edge had the best counselors and it was well-organized.

I worried about the club a bit because of no check-in/out process and 11yrs old walking around alone. But it turned out great because her new friends were very polite and knew very well how they should behave in public place

Does anyone have any reviews of the Edge Club on Disney Wonder? We are cruising next year on the Wonder. I was disappointed to find out the 11 year olds were moved out to the Edge. My DD11 is quiet and probably would have enjoyed the Lab activities more. I don't like the idea of her potentially playing video games all day! It seems like the Edge has fewer activities and it seems the level of fun depends on if the kids make friends or not. Looking for experiences of others with this new tween club. Thanks!

On our last cruise on the Wonder, the majority of video game junkies were the boys. The girls seemed to be more social - forming small groups of friends and participating in activities together. The CM are really good about trying to hook up kids with similar interests. Make sure your daughter goes to the Edge the first night and early on the first day at sea.

Last year my "good girl" (not interested in boys, Facebook, etc) 11 year old ended up hanging out with some of the 10 year olds who were close to turning 11. Since the cruise starts with two days at sea, there is plenty of time to get to know other kids. On Monday, there was a group scavenger hunt. The CM helped create the groups and that is how my daughter met her friends.

The girls would participate in some Edge activities (pizza making, crafts, 4th pigs pasta palace, etc) but also did things on their own like going to movies and shows together. When we got back from our days at port, the girls would arrange to meet in the Edge at a certain time and then go get ice cream or have a snack together.

Thank you LKfan! Your feedback puts my mind at ease. It's good to know the CMs really make an effort. I had stumbled upon some mixed reviews for the Edge, but those reviews seemed specific to the Dream. I'm so glad you had a positive experience on Wonder.

I think it is different on the longer cruises. With more days at sea, there are more activities planned.

The first night, when you go down to the Edge to meet the CM. You might let the CM in charge know that she is on the shy side and doesn't know anyone else. The first day is a little chaotic with everyone coming and going but, when she goes back on the second day, the CM will remember her and will introduce her to other girls her age. :flower3:

Also, if your DD feels more comfortable with a younger crowd, I think you can request her to go into the Lab. I know on our last cruise, younger kids were allowed in the Stack. Disney always aims to please ;o)

My husband and I took my 12 year old sister for her bday on the 4 night dream. She is typically very shy and we didn't really think we'd be without her much at all on this trip. We told her if she wanted to go to the Edge and try it up to her but no pressure to stay. She went the first day to check it out and I didn't think she was going to like it as it was mainly video games, and she's not big into video games. They chose what they wanted to do for the rest of the cruise the first night. The next day she went back up as she was interested in pizza making, and I couldn't get her out after that. One of the counselors put her in a group of girls for pizza making and she made instent friends. From that activity on we had to make her come to the shows and dinner with us. From the moment she woke up friends she'd met were texting her to meet them for icecream or to meet in the Edge on the wavephones. My husband and I had made reservations for Remy, thinking we may have to cancel depending on if she liked the Edge, but she loved it and we were able to enjoy a wonderful meal at Remy. Just make sure they go the first night because they meet the other kids and pick what activities they'll be doing for the rest of the cruise.

Thanks everyone for all the great advice! I'll make sure to take DD on the first night and the first day. I'm crossing my fingers that I can also say "I couldn't get her out of there!"

We were on Magic in February and my daughter who was turning 12 went to the Edge.. She is shy and was not to sure about it, but she LOVED it :thumbsup2 .. They did scavenger hunts and played basketball. She loved to organized activities and the freedom to run up to deck 9 for ice cream if she wanted to. One sea day she was there all day, and I had to call her to reminder her at 5:30pm that supper was being served soon. She had a great time there.. When we go back in December for our New Years Cruise , I'm sure she will be back in the edge making new friends.

I'm 16 so I have never been there before. I loved the teen club on my cruise.

My DD was able to go to the Edge but just hung around the ship. She's 12 also. It just didn't look interesting to her. I went up there and peeked in and it was dead. It looks pretty cool inside though. She had her Wave phone on her and she checked in with us all the time. The club looked smaller than I expected but it did have computers and games.

We were just on the Dream last week. We were a little afraid that our DD would rather be in the Oceaneer Club/Lab with her brother, as she just turned 11 the day before we boarded. No chance! She loved Edge!! We too had to remind her about dinner and once I almost had to beg her to come to a show with me.
Yes, it's smaller than Oceaneer and is more of a hangout place with video games, but there were also activities and games that she really liked. She really enjoyed making videos with the green screen and editing them. They also have organized activities like cupcake making, and flubber making. She really liked having a place to hang out with kids her own age and the freedom of being able to come and go as she pleased. She really liked her counselors too. And one of her favorite things about Edge was that "no parents allowed!"
