Our party consists of my brother, sister-in-law, their DS4, DD 16 months, DH, DS17, and myself. DS17 didnt dine with us at many meals, instead met friends and headed to DQ or a theme park.
Day Four:
We had 9:00am breakfast PS at Donalds Breakfastasaurus. We requested Neil, and had to wait for about 25 minutes for a table to free in his section. We were seated, and Neil already had milk on the table for my DS and DH, and brought over tea, coffee, and juice for us immediately. The buffet tables at Donalds have been moved since the last time we were there, now they are all up across the front entrance way, and to me it seemed to be more confusing with much longer lines then Ive experienced there in the past. All of the characters visited us at least once, some more than once, and spent plenty of time at our table. Neil was up to his usual hijinks, and made us laugh and laugh. We enjoyed more than enough Krispie Kremes and had a very enjoyable time.
For dinner we headed off to the Kona Café. My brother and SIL both opted for the beef teriyaki, and SIL had a frozen Pina Colada, which she proclaimed to be excellent. I had the roasted chicken. The chicken was excellent, moist and tender. DH had the Macadamia Mahi Mahi, which was very good, done just right with a little soy drizzled over the top. He added a Bass Ale to drink. The little ones split a grilled cheese, which was demolished. We were all full, so we skipped dessert. All in all a great dinner, with tax and tip it was just under $150. Our server was Ratana, who was very good and personable. He kept the service moving, important when eating with little ones.
Day Five:
We had a character breakfast at the Cape May Café. The character interaction was fabulous, regretfully the service wasnt. It took forever to get anything brought to us, beverages, an omelet, the check. The buffet was quite good, with a wide variety, including Mickey waffles and Krispie Kremes. Too bad as weve always had excellent food and service here before. I wont be rushing back
My SIL and I went to the Garden View Lounge for tea. Regretfully Denis didnt have an available table, but Dotty was our server and was wonderful as well. We started with Grand Mimosas, and then both opted for the Sally Lunn tea. SIL had the trifle and I had the strawberries and cream for dessert. . There were a couple of charming young ladies in the 7-8 year old range enjoying tea with their mothers. Regretfully there was also a family with a very bored and tired toddler who was having a meltdown and quite disruptive for the first fifteen minutes or so we were there, until they finally left. Otherwise it was a very lovely experience. With tax and tip it was just over $50.
That night SIL and DB took the kids to Beaches and Cream for dinner. The kids and parents both enjoyed it, they all had burgers and fries and shakes.
DH and I headed off to Narcooses. Chef TJ is the good friend of a friend of ours, and we asked for him when we were seated. He stopped by the table to chat for a moment, and discussed my allergies and helped me choose an appropriate entrée. I had the roasted chicken with sweet pepper sauce drizzled over the top, and substituted risotto for the mushroom ragout. The sweet pepper sauce was incredibly good, and blended perfectly with the chicken, which was tender and succulent. At Chef TJs recommendation, DH had the fish of the day (halibut), which was incredible. He claims it was possibly the very best meal hes ever eaten! We were blown away by the food, it was perfect! Chef TJ dropped by to talk to me about safe dessert choices, and I opted for the Assorted Berries Pyramid while DH chose the Triple Chocolate Terrine. This meal was simply incredible, and well worth the price about $150 with tax and tip.
