Ugg! Just thinking about it makes me queasy all over again!

My hubby and I went to Tony's when we went to Disney for our honeymoon, and thought it would be cute to eat there. So we check out the menu and my hubby decides to get spagetti and I get Baked Ziti. I figured that it would be good cause how can anyone mess up cheese, ziti, sauce and hamburger, right? WRONG!

We get our food and Jim's wolfing down his food while i'm smelling mine! It has a funny smell to it, but I figure that it's been a long day and i'm just being difficult. So I take a bite and literally had to spit it out into my napkin... it tasted exactly like cat food and had the consistency of canned cat food as well. It tasted nothing like hamburger. I ate a couple more bites, trying not to be a pain in the *** cause they were really busy.

I was so grossed out I couldn't eat it and my hubby was getting annoyed with me until he said "fine, lets switch". Ok, so we switch meals, he takes TWO BITES and puts the fork down. Within two minutes he's green as kermit the frog and looks at me and says "You're Right". If you knew him, you'd know that I should have got that on film...lol

Finally he made me call over the server and send it back. She looked at me like I had two heads when I explained why I couldn't eat it. They took it off our check and after we left, we couldn't go on rides for over 2 hrs cause we felt like we were constantly going to be sick. Ok service, horrible food!

What are some other people's experiences? That's the last place I expected to get bad food...McDonalds yeah, but an italian place in Disney?

Oh my!! Sorry that happened to you, I wonder what the heck was wrong with it.

Scary!! :scared1: We have planned to finally try Tony's in September. We are in the MK for 3 days, and there's only so many options... :confused3

Just don't get the baked ziti:) :rotfl:
My husband said his was fine, he didn't have meat in his, so maybe there was just something wrong with mine. Who knows? It was bad enough that we won't ever go there again.

We have gone several times and have always had at least a good meal, if not above average. However, we have found that lunch is MUCH better than dinner.

omg! I am definitely re-thinking my ADR for next week - I'm sorry that happened to you!!:flower3:

I have been to disney 4 times and can honestly say flat out that Tony's was the worst meal we have ever had at Disney. The food was terrrible, our waiter was terrrible and our seat location was terrible. Such a disappointment. The only place we will spend money now at MK to sit and eat is Plaza Rest, it is very good for the price. We have done breakfast at Crystal Palace and lunch at the colonial restaurant and they were ok but Tony's = BAD!

Last trip when we wanted to do MK fireworks and late magic hours, we ate dinner at WCC at WL then rode the boat over to MK.

My kids had the same reaction to the ziti!!! :scared1: I had the steak the last time we went and as far as steaks go it was fairly decent. I'm Italian and can produce some finger kissin' Italian meals and IMHO Tony's doesn't add up to decent Italian food. So, for food recommendations, I also had the salmon on a previous visit and it was good. As for service, again IMHO, it basically stinks. But Tony's has a definite love/hate thing going on, and for each hater there is a lover. Personal tastes and experiences, as always :thumbsup2 . Not to mention fresh ingredients and meat that hasn't spoiled.

I have to say here when at the MK, the only places that I would recommend are LLT....generic, family fare, decent.. not great. Tony's was the worst and then add the Plaza into the mix, also not good..

I would prefer to hop the monorail for good food at resorts or head to Epcot... I do not mind Casey's for hot dogs.. what can you do to a hot dog....but other than that I am with the poster with the mantra, hop the monorail instead of eating sit down at MK.

JMO

If you listen to the Dis Unplugged-they recently did a review of Tony's and had the same opinion-"Disgusting".

I ate there last December and the dinner was good. Its strange how there is not any consistency.

UGH! I am so bummed! This is the third bad review I've read (out of 4). We are going for MNSSHP in October, and we were planning to eat there (only other choice in MK is LTT - not worth it IMO). I guess we'll be hopping on the monorail!

I guess the thing is with restaurants is, is that it is the luck of the draw! We have eaten at Tony's 5 times and have always had good food. Out of the 5 times we have eaten there, only once did we not have amazing service. We have had service for 2, 4 (twice), 7 and 10. The one time that we had just good service was one of the times that there was 4 of us. The last time we ate there (oct 07) the service was the best and the food was amazing too. The only thing that I can honestly complain about their food was that I had ordered the Eggplant dish, and they changed the way they made it. But it was still delicious. I have learned over the years not to expect too much out of restaurants. We will keep going back there until we have bad service or food. Even our local authentic italian restaurant in town has bad nights!!! JMO!

We had really good service at Tony's but the food wasn't very good. It's really a shame because my girls love Lady and Tramp.

I have been going to Disney since 1978. The only time I have ever eaten there was for breakfast and they don't serve it there anymore. It was pleasant enough. Nothing to write home about. Everyone I know of who has eaten lunch or dinner has had a problem. There seems to alway be at least one dish that is inedible. So now I just keep walking.

The best thing about Tony's is to by-pass the restaurant altogether and just wander around and look at all the neat photographic stuffs they have, and amble on down and catch Steamboat Willie!!!

That's crazy how it seems to be either great or awful. I ate there last May and it was terrific. The food was great, and the service was excellent. I'm returning this May, and I'm getting a little worried now. :confused3
