I wanted to post a quick review of this one because I had read so many disturbing things on this site and others about this resort. Like so many, we won this hotel on priceline, for $55 in our case. I was terrified to get there and see the rooms after so many horrible reviews!
We checked in last night, March 1. It seemed okay from the outside, and the lobby was fine too. The front desk staff was friendly. I told them we were checking in and they asked if we had any requests about floor, etc. I said no but decided to be proactive and said I'd read many disturbing reviews about the place on line and asked that we be put in a decent room. They apologized about the reviews and gave us a room card. Fifth floor in the north tower. As many have said, the back doors to the towers do not stay locked--anyone can come in and out. We took the elevator to the room and found it to be just fine!! Smelled and looked clean. I took the bed apart checking it out and found the linens to be clean. It was an older room. There were a few scuffs on the wall and the coffee maker didn't work. The bathroom was large and clean, but there were rust stains on the ceiling where the curtain rod attached.
The room was large and spacious. The beds were on the hard side but there were definitely no springs sticking out in our room. I was up and down with our baby throughout the night and there were no bugs to be seen!
We were only at the hotel overnight and never used any dining or swimming areas but wanted to write this to make some of you feel better who also won this hotel on priceline and are stuck with it now!
It is certainly not a "resort"(and yes there is the "resort fee" of $6.95 tacked onto the bill) but it, for us, was also not the horror some of you faced. Maybe just saying something up front made it a better experience--I don't know. I don't know if our room assignment was the same as if I hadn't said anything about the bad reviews I'd read.
I certainly wouldn't want to spend a whole week at the hotel but really, if you are just needing a place to sleep in between park visits, this was perfectly fine.
Hope this puts someone's mind at ease!
