Just back from POR and thought I'd share a little. Overall, I was not impressed. I noticed so many people on here in love with POR, so I really feel like I "missed" something. I really think it boils down to I just couldn't "get into" the "fake" rusticness. The main reason I choose POR was so that my daughter could sleep in the trundle bed, and us not worry about her falling out and cracking her head open. Well, we ended up most nights with her sleeping with one of us. The Food Court was slow. The buses (except on one occasion) were quick and effecient, never had to wait long. The pool was small and the water slide very mild, but fun. I really, really missed having a balcony. Sometimes I wake up earlier than DH and DD and like to read. Well, I had to pull the curtain in the bathroom and sit on the floor. The room was small. (I don't want to sound like I hated it, but I think part of the problem was that our last vacation was to Iberostar Riviera Maya-highly recommend if anyone wants to ever *gasp* try out something not Disney! That resort was all-inclusive and fabulous. And no where near the deal we got for Disney. So I kept comparing that room to the room at POR and that really is not fair.)

I digress...Staff was pleasant. I left a $5 tip for the maids every day. I thought we might get some animals or a little something extra. Nope. Is $5 not enough? (It was in Mexico and they put flowers all over the room.) Let me say again, the Food Court was slow, painfully slow. Buses good. We went over to FQ. It looked a lot more fun. I think I liked that theming more. Their food court was also painfully slow.

Overall, we won't stay there again. I have seen the wonders of a monorail resort with a toddler. We be looking for a deal on one of those for our next trip. I don't want to discourage anyone from staying here. I just don't think it was for us.

Hey, thanks for the review, especially thanks for the honesty.

I am staying at POR in a few weeks, basically beacuse POFQ is full. I too love the balconies, and don't know if I am going to enjoy the rustic-ish feel. I stayed at POFQ last October and loved it, so I wanted something similar (and CBR has NO appeal to me, and my brother just stayed at CSR... we don't want to repeat just yet!).

I hope you had a good time regardless of the resort... and thanks again!

(Got any pictures you want to share? :teeth: )
