We are just back from a week long stay in a private 6Br5.5Ba home in Emerald Island. It is a fantastic resort, very close to Disney (less than 15 minutes door to door to all parks except MK...that was about 35 minutes but only because of the need to take the monorail to the park from the TTC). It was our first time staying "off-site", and having done so, we will never go back. It was faster to get to all parks, and the SPACE and ability to spread out (for about the same as a room in a value resort) cannot be beat. I will also say that we rented from this place:

and had a very positive experience. The home was clean, well maintained, and exactly as promised. The price was quite a bit less than similar homes in the area, and that made me suspicious ("too good to be true"), but all was well. So, if anyone else is considering this location (I found nothing on this site prior to renting), I can say that all was well.
We did not use the community pool because the pool at the house was so convenient....who wants to drive when you can just jump right in? LOL!
It is about 1-2 minutes farther away than homes at Formosa Gardens...no big deal at all, IMO.
