Reverse Diet

Well the basic principle is that you're eating brekfast for dinner and vice versa. There was a girl on GMA yesterday that lost a ton of weight doing it. I was planning on doing my own version of this which is eating a large breakfast, smaller lunch, and small dinner, but not really breakfast type foods for dinner or dinner foods for breakfast. Just wondering if anyone actually does the brekfast foods for dinner and dinner foods for breakfast version of this.

I would definately think the premise of that would work because you really should eat larger amounts earlier in the day. I stopped eating evening snacks and moved those calories earlier in the day. It really helps me. I do try to eat a nice dinner (although not HUGE) prior to 7pm.

I agree it could be done not switching what you ate around, just the size of the meal. Although once in a while I do eat breakfast for dinner.

As far as actual meals go, I'm not ever in the mood for dinner foods at breakfast time, never could understand people who eat meat with breakfast (except bacon, mmmm). As far as portion size goes, though, I've done that for years, albeit, the food choices have changed fairly recently for the better. Breakfast is the biggest meal of the day, then lunch, then dinner is usually just some fruit, or last night, some peanut butter celery and a wedge of cheese. And lots and lots of water. I've always been one of those lucky folks that despite the fact that I drink lots of water in the evening, it doesn't keep me awake at night except very occasionally.

I've heard of people having steak and eggs for breakfast, but I've never done it.

Lacerta, you have a really light dinner. I don't think i could go that far, but good for you. Also, with 3 kids, I know they wouldn't go for such a small dinner. We try to eat earlier, but it's hard. DD8 has a tight dance schedule. Well, dance will be done for her on June 11th and school done on the 17th so I was thinking of trying it then. We'll be in less of a hurry in the morning so I can have more time to cook a big breakfast. Anyone have any "BIG BREAKFAST" suggestions. My kids and DH are really picky. DD8 won't eat eggs, dosen't like fruit, pancakes, waffles, french toast. DH dosen't like cheese or eggs. DDs 3&1 will eat almost anything put in front of them. Any ideas welcome. TIA

Well, I'm giving it a week. I saw GMA on Wed. morning too, and I have the same "ton of weight" to lose as that girl did. I've lost some of my weight already on WW flex points, but I decided that I could try anything for a week and see how it goes. If it works, I'm goin' for it. If not, I've not lost anything for trying.

For the past month and a half, my breakfast has been 1 serving of Go Lean cereal, 1 cup strawberries and 1 cup 1% milk, but for the past 2 days I've eaten this for dinner. "Breakfast" for the past 2 days has been baked chicken and veggies. Sure, it is VERY DIFFERENT to say the least, but if it works, I'm not going to knock it.

I'm still counting points, and I'm still a WW, but I'm simply reversing my meals as often as possible. I know there will be times when I'll have to go back to the normal way (special occasions, family gatherings, etc.), but if this system works for me I plan to reverse more often than not.

Let me know how it worked at the end of the week!

Yesterday after reading this thread, I went looking on the internet. I work during the day and didn't see this girl on TV. I did see, however, on the internet what she had done and that it had worked for her. Does anyone know specifics of her diet? What she ate each day? I'm willing to try anything once, too. Thanks for your help.
