It’s been 10 years since I’ve been on Expedition Everest, but the Mummy is less of a drop than that. Plus it’s in the dark as you go down......

It's a pretty tame coaster. Think a shorter Space Mountain at Disneyland. Or a much smoother WDW Space Mountain if you've newer been to DL. It's MUCH tamer than Everest.

I haven't been to WDW in a few decades, so I can't compare, but I can give some descriptions.

There are two abrupt stops.
There is a very brief and tame backwards section.
There is a hill launch.
There is one airborne hill (my back loves the second of no pressure lol).
There are two fire scenes.
There are no upside-down loops.

The ride experience is truly more than the sum of its parts. Based on what I listed above, I would not think it would be great; however, Mummy is one of my favorite rides. I think a lot of that is due to it being indoors, and I have a love for launches.

It’s one of my favorite rides ever. Theming, ride elements...I love a good coaster and though this is pretty wussy on the scale of coasters I like, it’s just so much fun!! Try it!

All 5 of us in our family have Mummy down as our favorite ride at Universal.

The drop is small by 'coaster' standards, I'd say. I think the launch is more intense than the drop. The abrupt stops are maybe the most intense until you learn where they are and can brace yourself.

Overall, it's not a super-fast ride, but it feels much faster than it is due to the darkness and some 'trickery'.

I would say the most thrilling aspect is the launch. The drops are not that bad. This is coming from someone who's not a huge fan of dramatic drops. The second most "thrilling" aspect would be the backwards moment, but that is slow and only 5-10 feet at most and I think most people scream for it only due to the fact that it's unexpected. I mean, a jump scare is not not that scary, but when someone jumps out in front of you naturally you're going to jump, or scream. It's unexpected.

Yes, those abrupt stops are killers first time!

We soon learned where they were and absolutely braced ourselves for the stops after the first time!
