So, I have decided to tell DD that we are going to Disneyland!

Originally, the plan was to try and keep it a secret until we arrived. But as her best friend has just got back I think she'll be missing out on the excitement of discussing it with her friend before we go.

So we've decided to tell her a month before we go and then create some kind of Disney Countdown Calendar that she can use to track the days! Has anyone done this before? Would be really handy if I could print out a ready made one as my creating skills aren't great!

I'm so excited and I know that Olivia is going to be too when she finds out! All she talks about is Disneyland Paris!!

Aw I love this sounds so exciting we have a countdown calender but it is a wipe board every night before DD go to bed we wipe it off and write how many more days to go (Ok DD is only 10 months old and it is more my excitement lol)

I told our 2 about disneyland(my daughter and niece) at the end of November. Everyone told us not to cause it would ruin the surprise. But we are going a day earlier than they think(leaving home 2 days earlier) and they don't know where we are staying or anything. The excitement has been amazing-and they are still kept in suspense about where we are staying-numerous phone calls are taking place while they try to figure everything out among themselves-they aren't allowed to ak me:rotfl:

Hiya

How lovely!

I'm not that creative myself, but have you looked at the Creative DISigns sub board? (Its at the bottom of the main page) - the DISigners in there might have something already done that you could use, or could make one for you if not.

We've decided not to tell DS until we go, but when I thought we were going to tell him in advance, I was going to make a paper-chain countdown - where he could take one chain link off each day until the trip - so he could see it getting nearer and nearer. I would have put a Disney character or design on each link, and the number of days still to go sort of thing. Just an idea for you.

Have a great trip!

were going im may and im not telling the girl untill the morning. Going to stay in a hotel near the airport the night before going to pretend were going to the zoo which is near by. Our flight is at lunchtime so we will have all morning and the flight to plan! Any ideas how i tell them??? Have told the previously we were going and they were the longest 4mth of our lives!

One of the DISigners created a Disney countdown chain. We did this for our last trip. We told the kids a whole year in advance, and started the countdown chain at 180 days. It kept them from asking "When are we going?" The kids loved taking turns tearing a link off each night.
