Reusing bands from last year--any problems?

We are all linked and set up on line for our end of Dec trip. I wasn't going to order new customized bands and instead use our ones from a year ago--I should be all set, right?

Thanks!

The bands' batteries are designed to last 2.5 - 3 years.
They are completely reusable within that time frame.

Should be ... unless a battery went weak or other technological glitch.
We take fave old bands and the newest ones too so that we have a backup. It would be my luck to lose a band on the one trip I didn't bring a spare.:o

My AP is on my band, and I have only had problems with resorts - CBR and AKL. AKL insisted that I needed a new band as a room key. I politely argued that I did not, that all I had to do is put the room key code on my band, and they did it. I had to be a little persistent, and told them that they could recycle the grey band that they had for me. At CBR, they really wanted me to use the yellow band that mom had made for me. I was kinda ticked off, since I am trying to keep MB consumption low. The main problem was that my Mom talked to the front desk instead of me, and she isn't very good at well...being bullheaded me!

So - as a ticket, no worries. As a room key, my current MB isn't always accepted and you may have to argue (?) your point a bit.

I have not had this experience at all. I have used my pink band for 4 trips so far, but I also tend to wear a different band every day. the only issue I had was one I bought, the HM one, they didn't key it right in MK so it didn't work on the room door. The concierge at the resort fixed it without a fight at all.

OP, even if you don't customize bands, they will send them or give them to you at check in. Its best to just let them send you a new set of different colors that you have. Dh and I have one of each, plus the HM one I bought and we each have Food and Wine ones that came with the VIP package we did this year.

You should not need to have anything done to your bands to have them all work as a room key. Each band is tied to your MDEx profile, as is your room reservation. We have never had an issue using any of our bands as a room key without having anything done to them at the front desk.

and you don't need the battery to use it as a room key - the battery is for the long range scanner, the one that does things like pick up your ride photos.

We have AP bands from September, and will be visiting again in 10 days. We are staying at CBR and the Disney mail is asking us to order new bands - which I have not done. I'm assuming the room can be added to our AP bands when we arrive?

Yup.

Technically, no...but only because nothing is on the bands themselves. They simply link to your MDEx account. If your new hotel reservation is linked there your old bands (and the new set, if your order it) will be able to read it.

If you would like to order the second set in different colors, go ahead. You will be able to use both sets interchangably.
