Where do you reccomend to visit for a family reunion in the TN, AL, GA, Ms or Louisiana area ? I know that's a huge area- but Im looking all over. We want to stay in cabins n hang out- a lake is good - there are 43 of us n we stay 3-4 days n cook all our meals. We'd stay in one cabn if it was posssibke but I doubt it is.

We've been to a hotel in FL, cabins in Helen, Ga, a camp near Montgomery,al, cabins in Cheaha park. So we are looking for another location --- that's nice n not a fortune

would love any input you've got!

I'm going to say rent a "cabin" in TN! They come in a range of sizes- some with indoor pools and mini-golf. You could get a couple of them near each other- bbq on the porch, relax in the hot tub.

I saw some of those cabins in gatlinburg - may have to check into them further-I was thinking the cabins were spread way out - we like to be as close as possible.

Have you looked into Joe Wheeler State Park in N AL?

I know of church groups that have stayed here... they have a "group lodge" for 30, and cabins for up to 15. Between the two, or multiple cabins (some are brick houses) you could house everyone. Being state park accomodations, it's not high-class, but it's definitely not expensive!

Good luck on your search, sounds like an adventure! :upsidedow

Nope I haven't checked into those locations - I'll get to it.

While I'm asking - anyone know a place not more than about 10 hours drive from Houston ? That's where the fartherst family member lives...he had to drive 14 hrs this year - so the closer we could get to him would be better. I don't know that there's any mountain locations but a nice lake area would be good. (we don't want to go into TX 'cause that would have to folks coming from the Carolinas going too far)

There's got to be a midpoint somewhere for people to meet - ya know?
