For Cruise ship passengers returning to Vancouver --- and flying into the United States, what are the current testing requirements. How will this testing be handled? Will it be done on the ship prior to arrival? Is DCL assisting us with a location at the Vancouver Airport to do this required testing? Does anyone think these testing requirements will be changed/eliminated before the Alaskan cruise season begins?

At the moment, this is all TBD. Canada isn't testing anymore, so I don't imagine Disney will test on the ship now. US airlines/travel industry are pressing for them to drop the incoming testing requirements in general, so I hope they do so soon.

As mentioned above CA stopped requiring tests to enter. Fir the US I’d buy this telehealth antigen tests. Friends just used these in Budapest and it was easy BUT the one they had ( I’m not sure this is for all providers ) Required that the proctoring in monitoring be done via a laptop camera not a smart phone or iPad so if you look into this double check and make sure you have the equipment necessary

Canada no longer requires testing to enter , but Disney site still says every passenger will be tested with antigen test the day before arriving in Canada. Then they say if you need a test to fly back home you can get that after debarking, for a fee. I’m taking a limo from Vancouver to Seattle and will fly to Boston from there , so don’t need the test to fly into the US. But I’m wondering what will Disney do if you test positive with their antigen test the day before (assuming they do in fact do this ) , will we be “free to go” or will they have to report that to customs ?

I'm going to say that if a passenger tests positive, it will be reported and as it currently stands; Canada will require you to quarantine for 14 days. I don't think they will allow you to just leave. Canada is still requiring people to use their app and put in a quarantine plan if they test positive.

Also when did they stop the test before getting on the ship and to get off the ship, last thing I've seen dated March 7th says that tests are still required. I know they said they were stopping the testing if flying in, but I've not seen anything that said they were stopping the testing for cruise ship passengers.

I'm pretty sure that Disney simply hasn't updated its website since Canada announced no more testing required for cruise ship passengers provided they are tested upon boarding the cruise. Of course, I don't know this for sure, but I doubt Disney would spend the time and money to test passengers when there's no reason to do so.

If I missed an announcement by Disney after Canada changed its rules, I'm sorry for overlooking it. Does anyone else have any insight into this?

Testing to enter Canada if you are vaccinated is now done with as of today. I think Disney just hasn't updated their info to reflect this.

Cruising has it's own separate rules.

It now shows that (link above):

  • Disembarking a cruise ship in Canada
    • Effective April 1, 2022, fully vaccinated travellers on cruise ships will no longer need to take a COVID-19 molecular test before disembarking in Canada. All on board, including crew and passengers, must continue to monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 for 14 days after arrival in Canada as per the Quarantine, Isolation and Other Obligations Order.

Yay !! Was hoping this would be the case and Disney just hadn’t updated yet !! Now the biggest hurdle is embarkation day testing , which at this point I have no problem with, just a vacation bummer if you test positive. Thanks everyone !

If testing is still required to fly to the US, you can get tested at the airport - https://www.yvr.ca/en/passengers/tr...NKAgJQ8zT2m94K0CZ0EYRfv-kvy3WaujHmPUR5LYGyIQE

See the section - CVM MEDICAL PRE-DEPARTURE TESTING INSIDE YVR"

If your flying back to the us you still need to get tested at the moment. You need to come up with a plan in case you are positive that Disney should help us with. The plan needs to be submitted 3 days prior to entering Canada.

Which limo company are you using to get into Seattle?
