I currently have 2 car rental ressies - one returning to the Car Care Center and the other returning to the Dolphin. On the day the car is due back, our plan is to drive to Mk and spend 1/2 a day there and return the car on the way to Epcot. Someone suggested on these boards that returning the car to the Dolphin will be the best bet and then walk or take the boat over to the International Gateway of Epcot. Do you agree? How easy is it to catch a boat at the Dolphin? How far a walk is it to Epcot from the Dolphin?

As always, thank you for your help! :flower:

That really is the best thing to do. It's maybe a 10-minute walk from Dolphin to the IG entrance. It can be faster if you want it to be. You could catch the boat, too, but with all its stops, walking is faster. I actually did exactly what you plan on my last trip. It worked out well, and I met my family at the Princess Breakfast in the Norway pavilion with time to spare. I was a little sweaty from the late August walk, but it was sort of enjoyable actually.

The car return at the Dolphin is super easy too. You pull up to the main entrance and one of the valets will check your paperwork and write you a receipt that verifies you returned the car, since they are not actually Alamo/National employees. Then you can just walk through the lobby out to the boat dock area and either boat or walk to Epcot!

Thanks for the details on the car return! I feel much better about it now! :goodvibes

I can confirm this. However, I didn't realize it was going to such an easy thing, and I made it difficult on myself. I searched around for the Alamo counter and wondered what else I had to do. They looked at me like I was an idiot, which I guess I was. I could have/should have just walked at the back door and on to EPCOT, since I really was done once I parked the car in the valet area and gave the valet my paperwork. Oh well. Next time I'll know better not to waste so much time worrying about it.

If your resort is near the Dolphin you might just return it first, have breakfast in FRESH, then take the bus directly to the MK. You'll save having to take the tram to the TTC then monorail or ferry to MK.
