We had a great time on our first cruise - the 11/15 Eastern Magic. Well here we are 9 days later and my 7 year old DD is still having the blues about missing the cruise! At least once a day, out of the blue, she goes into a short crying jag about how much she misses the cruise, the kids club and our wonderful servers (Raj and Gemma) - as I was making dinner tonight, I was also thinking how much I miss Raj and Gemma too! She wants to know if I have $100 so we can go back again really soon...told her it took a little more money than that, and she said she'd chip in some more ;) Looks like DD is hooked!

Jo-Anne--

That may actually be the only true draw-back to a Disney cruise. Some on the boards have coined the term PCD (Post Cruise Depression) and many, myself included, have suffered from it!

Believe it or not, I've had to choke back tears as I've said goodbye to my servers at the end of my cruises!

However, your daughter may be onto something. As I've found it usually does help PCD to re-book! :teeth:

Jo, I am also suffering from PCD. :( Having the kids watch the video doesn't always help...especially of the final Kid's Show on Friday. BooHoo!!! DH said that we would go again in 2 years so we didn't rebook onboard. Tonight he brought up the subject & asked what I thought. I told him I would go again next year in a heartbeat because it was so good for both of us...and of course the kids had a blast too. DD has come out of her shell & went into PS this morning talking all about Mickey's boat. (She is 3...everything on the water is a boat. ;) ) He said to look into January 2005...well, to me October 2004 is the same thing with the price difference. We wont be getting the onboard credit but I wont complain if I get to see that ship a year sooner. The worst part for me...having to cook again. :(

Our 13yo DD is going through severe PCD since we got off the Wonder on 11/20 --- having ice cream in DCL yesterday set her off (reminded her of going to Scoops), seeing somone wearing a shirt from the Bahamas set her off, going through the pictures when we got them back from Walgreens set her off.

I'm about to go crackers!!! :)

My DS11 cried when we left our DCL vacation at the Hyatt at the airport because we had to get a day room because we had a very late flight. He was in tears that his vacation was over. We came back from eating lunch and he just stopped in the hallway and just cried! He had us ALL crying! He-WE- had the best time and he said he just didn't want it to end! He wanted to go back - like right then!

My DS13 could have given up all his baseball games to just sit in front of the computer to email and Instant Message all his new friends he met! They made me cry! THey exchanged pictures and stuff.

Since we rebooked, I have a jar of pennies in my DS11's room. Everyday he takes a penny out..... you know the drill ....

Sometimes somone will mention they are thinking about taking a Disney Cruise and the moms will come up to me and tell me that my son said - in a very serious way - "just wait..... when it's over, you will cry". This coming from a boy who STILL carries around his KTTW card in his wallet!

Oh, I know that look and I know that feeling..... isn't it great that we were at least able to give our kids a wonderful vacation with such great memories? :grouphug: :love1:

And I wasn't sure that I could convince her to ever go back but did and now that's all she can talk about!

I even can get her into a FORMAL! DD does not do dresses!LOL

After reading this thread, now I'm afraid, what's gonna happen when she actually enjoys the entire cruise!LOL Time will tell!LOL

Is it January yet!

Jo-anne, BTW, where's the trip report?

Sometimes it helps to watch the DCL video (of course...that can also make it worse..). :)

ps...I think my last KTTW card is probably still in my wallet too!

My kids and I made a scrap book that they look at often. We have been on 4 DCL cruises and this is the first time we didn't rebook as soon as we got home due to financial and personal reasons. My dds are both upset as well adn we got off the ship 11/1. I try and tell them to be happy that they got to go as some kids NEVER vacation. I try not to preach but I think my kids get it.Talking about it does make it better.
BTW we had Gemma as our server as well and she was fabulous. She really brightened our day each night when we saw her. SHe is such a pleasure to deal with.

It's been 5 months since they pried my fingers from the railing around deck 4, dragging me off of the ship. PCD - yep still have it. But looking foward to the next cruise in about a year.:boat: :boat:

We have to know we are going back EVERY year or we just couldn't stand it.

Just last week, my DD's wrist band from the Kids Lab finally came off (on it's own). She had left it on since September to remind her of the cruise. She said she was going to leave it on until the next cruise. I was thankful it came off because she is in a ballet this coming weekend and I know they wouldn't want her wearing that and it was going to be a BIG battle. Now that it came off by itself it isn't a problem.

Still can't believe she left it on that long! Her sister tried to leave hers on, but only last 1 month.

Well only 9 1/2 months to go until we are back on board again!
