We've been back from our 8 night stay at All Star Movies (10/2-10/4) and Beach Club (10/5-10/10) for about a week. This is the first opportunity I've had to post since our return.

All Star Movies was crowded Sat. & Sun. The Fantasia pool had lots of people swimming in it on these two days. We were in the Fantasia 5 building - our room overlooked one of the Love Bug buildings. There were alot of people checking in when we arrived but they kept brining out more cast members. We waited about 10 minutes which was great. No problems with our stay. The room was always kept clean and we had no problems with transportation. The resort cleared out on Sunday and was much less crowded on Monday. We walked over to Sports and Music on Sunday and both resorts were empty.

We left Movies at about 8:00 am on 10/5 and went over to the BC and left our luggage in storage. We went over to AK for the morning and went back to BC about 2:00 PM to check-in. Our room was ready, #2567. We did not realize it but this was the same room we stayed in during our last stay there in 12/02. The tree which blocked the view of Crescent Lake had either been removed or trimmed. We did not like this room on our last stay becasue there was not much of a view of "water". However the room now has a great view of the lake and marina, also has a large balcony. It is also near the quiet pool and near the world showcase entrance to Epcot. It was a long walk from the lobby.

At the BC, they have removed the mini-bar from the rooms. You are now able to use the refrigerator which is located in the armoire (which was part of the mini-bar). Very convenient!

The BC was not very crowded until Friday (10/8). By the afternoon, the line for check-in was almost to the main entrance. Sat. morning was a zoo in the lobby with many, many people. Most were buying breakfast at Rip Tide. Stromalong Bay on Sat. afternoon (10/9) was also a zoo. It was very difficult to find a lounge chair or any chair! They were checking for Resort ID's at the pool entrance.

Never saw Art the greeter during our five stay at the BC. We always enjoy talking with him.

Will try to post a more detailed report later. If anyone has questions, please ask!

I'm not sure where the smoking rooms are located. We were on the 2nd floor and most of the rooms on that floor seemed to be non-smoking. Maybe someone else on the board will know.

There was not any construction going on at Stormalong Bay during our stay. The "sinking sands" section of the pool was not working and the area across from the whirlpool where there were jets of water was not working either.

There was alot of construction going on at the Yacht Club. The section of the YC above Stromalong had scaffolding and tarps over it. There was also another section of the YC that had scaffolding. Parts of the YC roof had damange with shingles missing.

We will be taking a similar trip in Feb. 2 nights @ASMO and 9 nights @ BCV. How did you like ASMO? I have heard that it can be loud, did you find that to be true? I am a little concerned with our timing as the cheerleaders maybe in town. Do you think we might want to look into a mod.? I would really like to try ASMO but I don't want to start a trip with a potential problem.

We like Movies alot; this was our third stay there. We did not have any problems with noise in terms of our room location, it was quiet. We were in the Fantasia 5 building (the one with the sorcerer's apprentice hat) on the third floor. Our room faced a courtyard and one the Love Bug buildings. It was very quiet. There were many people in the food court most hours of the day and the Fantasia Pool was fairly crowded on Sat. and Sun. By Sun. afternoon, the resort had cleared out and the pool had few people in it on Mon.

We like Movies because of the Disney movie icons and the price. One advantage that Movies has over the BC is the food court, IMHO. It is nice to be able to refill your mugs quickly and have access to snacks and other foods in a central location. At the BC, there are only two places to refil mugs: Beaches & Cream, Hurricane Hannah's. It really was not worth standing in line in order to refil mugs. There was coffee in the BC lobby in the AM which is great for coffee drinkers.

There were many people checking in when we arrived at Movies, so I expected a long wait. However, they kept adding CM's at the front desk and our wait was maybe 10 minutes.

We like to switch resorts, staying at a value then deluxe, in order to save some $.

Any other questions, let me know!

tiggersgal- I too would like to know where the smoking rooms are, standard view, since we're going there next summer. Will you add me to your buddy list, and when you get back will you pm me? I've asked this question everywhere on this board, and nobody seems to know. Thanks!

Samsma, yes I will. I've also asked several times. No one will reply. I'll let you know when I go in November if we can't find out before hand.

I was at wdw the same time as you :wave2:. I was a neighbour at the BWI. I'm glad you had a great time! The BC is one of my favourite hotels :D
