DH and I stayed at BWV's from August 31 - September 8. We had a 1 bedroom, room 1103, first floor with a view of the enterance. We did request first floor because we like the convience of walking down the hall and out the door to the bus stop and the boats are not too far away.
We actually arrived August 29th and stayed at ASMo for 2 nights. Lets just say that I am now a DVC snob. Although it was not too bad, I miss the space in the DVC resorts. Could not wait to get to BWV.
The BWV room was wonderful. No major problems, just the usual wear and tear. The first night when I used the hairdryer you had to hold down the on button, or it shut off. In the AM DH called maintence and when we returned later, we had a new hairdryer.
Weather was HOT!!! Everyone was concerned about Gustav, he did bring us wind which helped it not feel as hot. We only had rain two days of our trip and was a welcome relief.
Crowds were low. Loved walking on to Splash, BTMR, Soaring, EE, Peter Pan, Poo, and mostly everything else. Fast Pass time was short so we got a FP to use later in the day.
MK Castle Suite: We had the DVC tour of the Castle Suite. It was wonderful. The suite is much smaller than I though it would be. The attention to detail was awsome. It was fun!
NEW FAVORITE RIDE IS.............Toy Story Mania!! I just love this ride!!! This was the only ride that had a wait time of 40-90 min. FP's were around most of the day so we utilized that. Spoke with a cast member who stated that the week before, wait times were 180 min and FP's were gone by 11AM!!
Dining was ok. Places were full because of free dining but not too overwhelming. Counter service wasn't as packed as I remembered it to be last year. Best place was Jiko. Wonderful!! We sat at the "Cooking Place" and met a couple who happen to be some very nice Disers!! When we were at Prime Time we had placed our order and then no more than 5 min later, it was served. We were in and out of the place in 20 minutes. I was a little upset, but the fried chicken and pot roast was sooo yummy I could forgive them, this time. We did try Earl of Sandwich for the first time and we just loooooved it. We will be back in January.
We usually don't have any problems with the busses, but this trip they were just horrible. Wait times in the AM from BWV's were 30-45 minutes even with a cast member at the stop. Noticed several times at MK and AK where busses would pull into the stops without anyone arriving or departing in them. Very frustrating when your stop has people waiting and you have been waiting 30 minutes.
Had a lovely meet and greet with John from Owners Locker! It was fun to meet him and other owners. I LOVE MY OL!!!
Overall it was another wonderful trip and I can't wait till our next one in January at AKV!!
