We are booked on the Septembet 11 Magic. I know that this has been mentioned before but I can't recall the answer. Which airlines allow you to check in at the port on your return? With my Mom (age 78) traveling with us it would make life so much easier if we can have the bags checked before we board the bus to the airport.

We just got back from 8 days at OKW. We took a side trip last Thursday to see the Wonder in port and check out a few things. As we came over the bridge on 528 and the Wonder came into view my friend said "Oh Wow. Isn't it beautiful." That says it all. Now September seems so far away. My friend does not spend hours and hours on these boards like I do so she isn't into the latest and greatest DCL info around.

When we got back on Feb 26th from the Wonder the major airlines all had check-in at the port(Continental,US AIR,American,Delta). We used US AIR and had no problems. We also used the bus to MCO($25 per person)

There is nothing quite like the feeling you get the first time you see either ship as you are coming over the bridge. It makes all the planning and waiting really worthwhile.

As a side question to this question:

We are coming home on Saturday after our cruise and we fly out via Delta. Our return flight isnt until I think 5 pm. Can we still check our luggage in at the port and then head to our day room at the Hyatt with just carryon bags or do we have to lug them with us and check them in later???

I'm really hoping we can just check the bags in with Delta at the Port and not have to deal with 3 tired kids, luggage and an all day wait to go home.

TIA
Heidi

hydster: I have read of several people checking luggage with Delta for afternoon flights, so you should be ok.

NCRedding...Thanks! I was hoping that would be possible!!! Now it wont be as hard to leave that ship knowing I dont have to drag luggage as well as tired grumpy kids!

We did the exact 2 weeks ago. We had a 5:00 pm flight and a "Day room" at the Hyatt. We checked our luggage at the port with US AIR.

Didn't see our luggage untl we got back to Pittsburgh airport.;)

Nick...thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

I am SO happy and relieved to hear this!!! Now I can relax and start trying to figure out how to lose 2 sizes to fit in a bathing suit! LOL

Thanks again!

How did the day room at the Hyatt work out? I am thinking of doing the same thing, as I can't imagine getting off the ship and getting all stressed out trying to cram another adventure in before we leave around 5pm. Thanks for the input!

It was "Great"!!. We got to the airport(MCO) by DCL bus at 8:50 am. Checked into the Hyatt at 9:10 am. Laid out by the pool, took a shower, ate lunch in food court, and then went back to our room to relax and watch TV.

Left our room at 4:00 pm and walked directly to security check point. Felt really refreshed and glad we got the day room($60).
Would do it again in a heartbeat, if we have another later flight after a cruise.

Does anyone know if Frontier Airlines is one of the major airlines that will allow you to check your bags at the port? We'll be taking DLC bus to the airport for a 6pm flight and it would be very nice not to have to deal with luggage during the wait. I'm trying to convince DH that a day room would be MUCH better than sitting in the terminal.
