RETURN TO THE WORLD!!!
MAY 21 TO MAY 30
PART I
THE CAST:
Piglet--Me--50 year old trip planner
Tigger--My forty-something cousin
Pooh--Tiggers 8 year old daughter
BACKGROUND: Our first trip to the World was last September. Needless to say, we fell in love and missed so much we had to return. Poohs 8th birthday was May 22 and school was out on May 21, so a trip was planned!! We stayed offsite and purchased annual passes. Special plans were made for Poohs birthday celebration! We had promised ourselves that we would relax this trip. We were near dead after our last trip and we vowed this trip would be different.
MAY 21: TRAVEL DAY
We left as soon as school was out at noon. Seven hours later we were in Orlando at our resort! Nice, smooth trip. The portable DVD player was worth its weight in gold! Pooh very quiet the whole trip. Got unpacked and Pooh took a swim. We are finally BACK!
MAY 22: HAPPY BIRTHDAY AT ANIMAL KINGDOM
Got to AK in good time and traded our vouchers for our annual passes. Also picked up a birthday button. Saw opening ceremony and went straight to Dinoland for Poohs favorite ride--Primeval Hurl, I mean Whirl! Many rides on this and then playing at the Dig Site before our 10:30 breakfast with Donald. We really enjoyed this! Lots of special attention for Poohs birthday and good food too. Great timing as we had time to finish our breakfast before the characters arrived. After breakfast we wandered over to Asia and walked the trail and then wandered over to Africa. We were in our relaxing mode and just soaking up the atmosphere. Wandered up to Camp Minnie-Mickey and saw our fav show FOTLK. After the show, we had our first Mickey Bar of the trip. YUM! Then back to Dinoland for more PW. It was Poohs birthday, remember? Caught the parade and then had supper and shopping at Rain Forest. Back to resort for swimming and grocery shopping. We did better at relaxing!
