Sunday 23rd September - Day 10
Today we headed over to IOA bright and early, Mike went on Hulk then we both did Dr Doom and Spiderman after which we had a look round the shops. Next the rapids, I remembered you got very wet on the water rides here so put on my poncho. Off we sent in a full barge with some kids who couldn't wait to get wet. They got their wish as everyone was pretty soaked straight away, even in my poncho I was a bit soggy, then half way round the heavens opened and any part of anyone not wet now was. We docked and surprisingly there was no queue so the kids stayed on while the rest of us got off and ran for cover. We ran from cover to cover and into a shop hoping to get a new map as ours was now just mush, no such luck so I asked the staff member where the nearest places to eat where. We decided to head to The Burger Digs but so had a lot of other people. We manged to get a table outside but under cover where we dried off a bit.
The rain stopped so we went round to the Sinbad show. I appreciated this more as I'd seen how much work went into it on some behind the scenes show on Sky3. DBF loves Dueling Dragons we went there next only to be told thunder and lighting was in the area so the ride was closed and so where nearly all the other park rides. We headed back to The Burger Digs and just made it into the building as it again started to chuck it down and got a coke but there was no where to sit so we went to look around the downstairs as we'd not been there before. A lot of other people had had the same idea so we just sat on the floor and waited and when a few people lefted to brave the outside we played on a few of the games.
When the rain finally stopped we headed back to DD. DBF went to queue up and thinking he might queue for both and also maybe for the front I looked round for a place to sit that was dry. I found a low wall that was sheltered by a shop roof and so had stayed dry and was near the ride exit, perfect. I sat down and waited and waited and waited and waited. How many goes was he having I thought. I waited some more and then out of the corner of my eye I saw him looking round for me. Turns out he'd come out ages ago and we hadn't seen each other, he'd only had one ride and not at the front either!
I needed the loo so popped into a restroom, slipped on the floor and cracked my knee on the tiled floor, oh that hurt! I went back out to Mike feeling sorry for myself so we decided to leave as even though it wasn't raining anymore it still felt miserable. We stopped on the way out and Mike said he'd buy me a cake to make me feel better so I picked a massive chocolate eclair, but I guess it just wasn't my day as it didn't taste very nice so I left most of it.
We headed back to the hotel and had a rest before heading back out into the rain to go to TGI Fridays at crossroads to eat then we had an early night.
