i am really not sure what to expect on this ride.

i have never been on this ride and i don't like big drops although i have been on splash/space mountain is disney.

is there a ride similar to it?

also any big drops?

thanks,

xjx

I don't think the drop is nearly as big as the Splash Mountain drop. I am not a rollercoaster person so I really can't compare it as The Mummy is the only rollercoaster I have been on. Plus, I have only been on the The Mummy twice, and 1 of the times, my eyes were closed most of the ride:rotfl:

But there are some drops. One drop is backwards, which I LOVE even though I normally hate big drops. Someone else can probably help you out more than I can since I dont know any rides to compare it to

The Mummy is a one of a kind ride. I can't really think of anything to comapre it too. It was marketed as a "Psychological Thrill ride" and it includes show scenes that incorporate several amazing effects such as fire and thousands of beatles or some sort of bug. As far as intensity goes, you do go backwards at one point but not near as long as you do on Expedition Everest, you do get launched like Rock N Roller coaster but it is uphill and not as fast. It doesnt go upside down either so its not bad at all. It's an amazing ride that you shouldnt miss.

Lets see if there is anything at all we can compare it to. Its in the dark, so that makes it like Space Mountain and Rockin Roller Coaster. There are no loops....so that makes it like Space Mountain. There are some slow moving dark ride parts with hidden surprises, that makes it like Haunted Mansion. It goes backwards.....a little....that makes it like Everest. It has a launch into darkness, that makes it like Rockin Roller Coaster. It has two drops....but neither are near as big as Splash Mountain...and they kind of come out of nowhere...as in you cant see them, so you dont get yourself worked up over it.

Now, its not like Everest because the backwards portions do not pull your body apart and they arent as long. It doesnt have a HUGE 88ft drop like Everest does, and the AA is a less friendly than Yeti....yet less menacing. RRC launces you off at something like 69 mph, where ROTM launches you at I believe 42 mph...maybe a little less. Its a great ride, and should not be feared. It is all mental.

Just an FYI, it is the "Revenge of the Mummy." The first half is a slow dark ride and the last half is a coaster. I think the coaster part is comparable to Space Mountain.

I've been on the Mummy a few times, and Expedition Everest once.

The backwards part on the Mummy does not compare to EE, because EE's is faster and longer. Whereas the backwards part on the Mummy is much shorter, less scary, not as fast.

I can't ride coasters because the drops make me sick. Even though there are drops in the Mummy, they are less steep, and your stomach does not drop as much. The drop on EE is worse than any of the ones in the Mummy.

I don't do roller coasters but I really wanted to try the Mummy last year. I did try it, and when I kept my eyes open it had pretty cool special effects. I was a little nauseated getting off and it's a very dark ride. No huge drops, no upside down, but it felt very fast to me.

I'd like to try it again, maybe with some dramamine next time!

thanks for your opnions - i think that i will try and check it out when i hopefully go in feb.
