If our return flight is at 5 what do you do for the day? If you have DCL transfers I guess you have no options-is that true?

You do have some options, but it's the luggage that's the problem.

For instance, some guests go to the resorts from the cruise, and DCL does have a bus that's designated for that purpose. But, you'd have to take your bags so that wouldn't work.

You don't have to take the transfers in both directions. (One leg of a trip is $25.00.) If you do that, you can rent a car for the day. We've done that when we've had later flights.

We've visited Downtown Disney, squeezed in a few hours at Epcot, etc.

we stayed at the hyatt ( airport) day rate, ( we had a 5:30 flight)very handy they stored our luggage until time to check it in and helped us to the luggage check counter, which was great ( we had 9 large pieces ).
They have an indoor pool also..

Another vote for for the day room at the MCO Hyatt. Very comfortable and relaxing.

We're tossing around the idea of Kennedy Space Center. Last time we just did some shopping and saw the Titanic exhibit.

Anyone tell me how much the day rate is at the Hyatt??? I too, am not leaving Florida until 5 something and I know we have to be off the boat at 830 or so.....

Thanks
:)

We rented a day car for the day we get back from our cruise. Our flight doesn't leave until 6:50 p.m. Not sure yet what we will feel up to doing that day, but am sure we will want the convenience of having our own vehicle.

Oh well....Hyatt is booked the day I would want it....do other hotels do a day rate thingy???? Never heard/done that before....

Thanks in advance :teeth:

You could consider cancelling your transfers (at least back) and renting a car.

A 5 pm flight could give you a few hours at Blizzard Beach or Disney Quest. It could let you see Kennedy Space Center. If you are a WDW AP holder, it might even be worth a trip into the parks (I don't think it would be unless you already had an AP). You could have a late breakfast at Chef Mickey's, then resort hop. Or visit DTD. You could explore the Orlando outlet mall.

But to do this, you'll want a car. Then your luggage can go in the trunk (or check it getting off the ship - depending on who you are flying with).

Ok another question then....

If I cancel my transfer from the ship back to the airport....where can I rent a car from? I have no clue what car renters are near the port and how would I get to them????

Thanks ;)

Usually we rent a day room at the Hyatt for $60; sometimes share with my sister's family. we can rest on the beds, swim, get something to eat and take it easy till time to check luggage. You can look down into airport and see how long lines are and go down and check luggage in when time and return to room till time to go through security. We like to fly in the day before and stay at same hotel. They have a AAA rate that includes buffet breakfast and we are refreshed, ready to go on first bus to port.

I think they've recently raised the day rate at the Hyatt to $75/day.

We are renting a car from Budget which is right near the port. It's costing us like $33.99 we are renting a mid-size car. We will probably go to DTD for the day.
