Since we have to prepay baggage fees for the return flight if using ME... can they be paid when I check in online, and pay the baggage fees for the departing trip?

I called Delta, and they'll call me back in 4-8 hours, and we're flying out saturday. That's why I'm asking here. That, and I haven't flown since 2005. :lmao: .... no, really. :scared:

You can't pay in advance of online check-in for each flight. You have to pay for each separately. I'm not sure if they allow you to pay at the ME desk now, it used to be they gave you a number to call.

DME is separate from RACK (resort airline check=in desk). Since you are flying on Delta you can check-in for your flight,, check your luggage and pay for your checked bags all at the RACK desk at your disney hotel the morning of your flight home.. There is a sticky at the top of the transportation board that explains RACK and hours of operation.

You are lumping 2 separate services together. Magical Express is the bus that brings you to WDW and takes you back to the airport. If you don't wish to bring your bags with you on the bus back to the airport (which you can do, and check them in at the airport) you use Resort Airline Check In. They are the ones who take your luggage from you, where you don't see your bags again until you are at your home airport.

Ok, that's what I was getting confused. Thank you for the clerification. So, stick the yellow tags on the checked luggage, turn it into the airline, once I land in orlando.... go straight to ME... and hop on the bus. Bags will get to my room in 3-4 hours.

Then, the morning of departure, have checked bags checked in at RACK at least 4 hours before flight. (make sure to call before and pay baggage fees w/that number) Take ME to the airport and we'll meet the bags when we arrive back home.

Thanks again. It's been 8 years .... lol....

You got it!:thumbsup2

Btw, you are aware of the 3-1-1 rule, right? And know you will need to take your shoes off before you go thru the screening process? And know that getting an overhead bin space for your carryon bag can mean pistols at dawn? Ok, the pistols at dawn may be a bit of an exaggeration, but not much of one. Overhead space is much in demand, as people try to fly without checking bags.

RAC - resort airline checking is open from 5:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m. If you are using this service you need to check in with them no later than 3 hours before you flight.

Yep, got all my things, less than 3 oz. in 1 qt. baggie, we have somewhat priority seating as we are flying coach comfort? or coach plus. (woo hoo we get an extra 4-5 inches~ hollar!) so hopefully we'll get to claim our overhead bin space actually over our own heads. :)

I feel like a virgin flyer. :rotfl: Which is so funny as growing up, my dad had a 4 passenger cessna we flew every weekend to my grandpa's farm.

Just one more tip - when I checked my bags at POP Century on the morning of my departure I just paid for them then. But they only accepted credit cards. So just be aware of that. I had set aside cash for that purpose, but thankfully had a card with me.
