Resturants! Need help!

We are a Florida family going to California for the first time. We are very excited but are learning how much there is to offer. Over the course of the vacation we will be experiencing universal studios Hollywood, Hollywood, Santa Monica, and much more before ending with a few days at Disneyland.

Food is a major part of our vacations and there's just so many options. We are looking for some key staples in those areas that we just have to experience. I am talking casual restaurants to fancy. My family wants a wide variety.

Please help me make a list for our first visit. As we want the overall Los Angeles experience!!

My family loves to go to DuPars at the grove/farmers market in LA for their pancakes and pies.

That’s also close to Olvera Street.

In Santa Monica the place I really liked was Papi Tacos & Churros. Their red birria is just so good.

Other than that, if you find a taco truck somewhere, give it a try. LA is also known for the bacon wrapped hot dog (aka “danger dogs) often sold off of sketchy looking street carts.

Another institution is Porto’s. It’s kind of hard to describe, but it’s operated by a Cuban expat family and they do a little bit of everything at very reasonable prices. Locations may not be that convenient for you other than maybe Buena Park. They are going to open a new location at Downtown Disney.

I went to college, lived and worked in LA, so I now avoid going there on purpose. LOL
With that said, having lived been born and raised in So Cal and now living here again after being around the world, there are still great places that I love in the Los Angeles area.
