I have not seen anyone talk about this resturant. Do people go there? Is the food any good?

I went there in 2008 and will not go back. DW, DS and myself didn't care at all for the food and the restaurant was extremely loud.

DH and I ate there in April and we loved it. But we had 3:30 reservations so it was quiet and the service was fabulous and unrushed.

"Good" is the operative word. Yes, it's "good". Not "great"; not "excellent"; but also not "bad"; and not "horrid". I love Moroccan food, and Marrakesh presents such a substantially watered-down version of the reality that folks who like Moroccan food are destined to be disappointed, and folks who don't know anything about Moroccan food are likely to be misled into thinking how unremarkable Moroccan cuisine seems to be (which, of course, is not the actual reality).

Had lunch around 12:45. Loved the music and belly dancing. Great food, great service. Loved the mint iced tea. Everything was perfect.

My husband and I went there last year. I wouldn't say it was the worst food I have ever had, but it wouldn't get the mark of a god place either. The restaurant was nearly empty the entire time we were there. We might would go back, but I doubt it because of all the other places we enjoy.

DH, DD11 and I really like this place...I agree with a PP about the deliciousness of the Mint Iced Green Tea - it's very refreshing. I agree that it's Moroccan food for the not-too-adventurous, but the food has always been good when we've eaten there. In November, I ordered a couscous dish with eggs, almonds, fried onions and I don't remember what else without checking the menu...it was really good!

We enjoy the entertainment without finding it too loud.

:sunny:

We went there for my husband's B-day. He liked the activities, but we didn't care for the food.

we liked it alot, but if you are looking for traditional Morroccan food, you will be sorely disappointed..It is Americanized and not as spicy or traditional. We enjoyed our meals there and will go back, many people complain about it

we have been there two times and enjoyed it both times. We ordered the taste of Morocco the 1st time and i had the Night in Casablanca the last time. We are looking forward to going back in December.

We Like the place and the food, the two together make it enjoyable:thumbsup2

That is going to be our first night pick for dinner this trip.

It is like any place to eat, only you will be able to decide if you like it or not.

We always think any place in Disney is worth a try once:cool1:

We ate dinner there in May and enjoyed it. Food was excellent, restaurant was beautiful, the entertainment was great, and the service was competent enough, although not amazing. Maybe we ordered the less popular things on the menu, but they seemed authentic enough and we have had Moroccan food before. My DH had a braised beef with raisins over couscous, and I had a fish tagine with chili peppers.

We went there last year and I thought it was okay. The atmosphere is very nice and the service is good.

I got the fish and the rest of my party had the beef skewers - the beef was really tasty but the fish was so-so. If I were going there again, I would get the beef!

I think it's just off the beat path and tucked in the back of the pavilion. I wouldn't say the food is the best presentation of Moroccan food but the chicken kabobs are tasty, the baklava sweet and it's nice and cool inside. Epcot is hit or miss for dining options and I'd put Merrakesh in the better half.

The belly dancing is a little hokey but cute when little kids get a chance to try it.

We went once - I'm all for trying anything at least once :thumbsup2 Beautiful restaurant, lovely waitress, loved the belly dancer - the entire atmosphere made you feel like royalty. Did not care so much for the food, we got the taste of morroco or whatever the sampler dish/meal was called - don't remember - it had lamb & chicken leg served with coucous & veggies - I liked the non-meat items better than the meat. It is probably my least favorite meal ever at WDW. But if I were going with a group that had never been & wanted to go, I would give it another try & order something different. Any restaurant can have an off day.

I went in 2008 as well but we had a very late reservation - about 8:30PM. It got really nice and quiet when everyone was out watching Illuminations. The food was good - but not over the top spectacular. We did enjoy trying the food with some of the wine pairings.

I'd probably go again to give it another chance but it isn't a "Must Do" for each trip.

I like the way you said that! :goodvibes

The food did not make me sick, so it's not "bad", but it was not "great"...
and I was looking for an authentic experience, but I am learning that you are hard-pressed to find that in the WS, with the exception of Akershus, which some complain is too Norwegian... :rotfl:

For the price we paid at RM, we were hoping for a great experience...:confused3

We had met a RM CM earlier in our week who was promoting RM at the edge of Morocco by bathing guests hands in rosewater :cloud9: and since we had already made our 90 day adrs we were so excited for our Moroccan dining experience!
(visions of escaping the heat of the day in the cool, tiled, romantic oasis of middle-eastern culture...)

We arrived 5 minutes early for our 1 pm adr and were seated quickly in a little table for two and were promptly ignored for about 7 minutes- no water, no menus, no greeting- nothing...:confused3

They were at least half empty, and we felt no sense of hospitality or welcome or even that they wanted to serve us.
At the point when we were about to get up and walk out, someone came with water and menus...

Food was uninspired, and on par with cafeteria food, except the baklava.
Service was poor- what a shame- you could serve me mediocre food with kindness and courtesy and I would probably come back and give it a second try.
Very disappointed- won't be back!

We go there almost every trip. LOVE the food and the belly dancing is pretty interesting as well. Never found it to be particularly loud. Food tastes are all so objective though, just depends on what you like.

Eaten here couple of times. We enjoyed the food and the service and I particularly liked the entertainment!

We love it. However, it is not for everyone. It is very authentic middle eastern food and their spices etc. are not what some like or are used to eating here in the States.

If you like Greek food etc., you will probably love it and like another poster said, the mint tea is fabulous. It is one of those places you will either love or hate depending on your palette.

Soups are great, kabobs are great too. It is DEF not the place to go if you like plain old meat and potatoes. It is a wonderful place to go if you like live entertainment and have an adventurous palette.

If you like places like Boma, you will like Marrakesh....
