Hi all,
I printed out the brochure from Disney that explains the dining plan. We have AR's for all of our table service and we're not doing any places w/surharges, etc. What restrictions have you run into, if any? Do salads count as appetizers or do appetizers have to be "appetizers"?

I know the fancy drinks and stuff will be extra, but any other surprises? I'm trying to get the rest of our budget together now (reservations and airfare already paid for) so we can start putting that away!

Thanks for your input!

I would like to know, too! I've heard that the 'glow ice cubes' at MGM are a "maybe" (depending on the CM). I have a feeling that once the timeframe for the "free dining plan" kicks in, they're going to be a lot more strict.

Last month at Chef Mickey's we were given a choice of a glow cube drink, a shake, a latte/coffee drink, and something else that I can't remember because we had the dining plan. So all the kids got the glow cubes to go. They thought that they were too cool walking out of dinner with those cups! Usually an appetizer was a choice of soup or salad or whatever else was listed at the TS menu. Depends on the restarant. At counter service we also had dessert choices - mickey crispy treat, chocolate shakes, frozen lemonades, apple spice cake - again depended on the restaurant. We always asked what our choices were. At the ABC commisary the Hagen Daz bars were not considered a dessert, they were an extra charge. Everyone was very helpful with what was allowed on the meal plan - WE LOVED IT!!
