Thank you so much!!! I didn't realize that they have gift cards now that are valid at a bunch of restaurants. I've never ordered their gift certificates before because the recipient always has to spend a certain amount to use it first. These look to be just plain old gift cards. I got $500 worth of gift cards for $46!!!! Amazing!

Careful - the way I read the FAQ about the gift cards is that you use them to buy gift certificates for restaurants of your choice at restaurant . com.

It is not the type of thing you can take to the restuarant directly and avoid the "spend $50 and get $25 off". Still a great deal - but just know the person you give it to will be using it to purchase certificates, not to use at the restaurant directly.

its a GC to purchase restaurant Gift Certicates for restaurants. example: I purchase this GC worth $100 (cost me $8) and use it on restaurant.com to purchase git certif. even if they are having a sale like 70 % or 80% off of the restaurants. lets say i wanted to buy a g certif that is worth $50 and it costs me $10 they only deduct $10 off the $100 GC. not to bad if you use restaurant.com all the time.
I have used they a few times never had a problem. Except the waiter or waitress add the tip right into the bill, instead of leaving it up to me to tip on the original bill total. I usually give more then 18%.

It is a good deal. The code is valid on ALL of their certificates not just the $100 so you can pick a restaurant specifically as well if you know of one someone likes.

This works if you live in a big city with lots of choices.

I bought my friend a $50 certificate last week. Her favorite restaurant was listed and I thought $25 (to cover the mimimum purchase) plus the certificate would be a nice present.

I saw the offer above at another site and thought about buying some additional gift cards for the future. I found out the restaurant we all like is no longer accepting the certificates.

There is only a few other restaurants listed, none we are interested in going to. So I have no gift for my friend.

I've looking on the internet and found this is a big issue with the certificates. My only option is switching to another restaurant. I'm going to wait and hope some new restaurants get listed in the future.

I want to chime in as a many time recipient of these certificates as presents...
While it sounds like a good deal--unless you really live in an area with a lot of choices AND eat out Sun-Thurs, they may not be as useful as you think. I wouldn't buy one as a gift unless you really know a person's favorite restaurant is on there or something. (Nice idea to include the cash and certificate. )

We wouldn't give one as a gift and hope we don't receive anymore because we feel bad when we don't use them,

I think they're a great idea to purchase and use for yourself just before you plan to go to one of the restaurants.

I just read it a bit wrong, and thought that if I bought the gift card, I could take it to the restaurant, and they would take the $ off the gift card and avoid the certificate thing - thus avoiding the minimum. Just wanted to make sure everyone was clear on how it worked since I read it wrong the first time.

We just used a certificate last night as a matter of fact! Had the whole fam, so meeting the $50 for this particular place wasn't a problem. Nice treat!
