Do the restaurants let you take it to go? And I was wondering, if you can share a plate? And do they charge you couple bucks to do that? I'm thinking, if we go to Tchop Chop, that DH and I could split a meal, to guarantee we will have room for dessert, since I heard such good things about them. Also, with the subject of taking out, I was hoping we could maybe order just a dessert out one night. Any one have any ideas!

DH and I were watching our caloric intake during our last trip to Universal and shared salads and entrees at Mythos, NBA City (2x) and Margaritaville (can't remember where else) . We were never charged a plate sharing fee at any of those venues. We ate at Tchoup Chop, but splurged (big time!) and ordered our own meals (and salads and desserts, and and and !!!) I do not imagine that they will have a problem with sharing, but do not know about a fee. We did take out at a couple of places and they did not seem to have a problem with that. Remember, they are in the business of selling product and will likely do it any way they can. You may want to be aware that some items handle "to go" better than others. Hope you enjoy it.

You should have no problem getting stuff to-go. Many times I have gotten food to go, be it a dessert or a meal. In some cases, they'll have you wait at the bar until it comes, or order/pick-up there.

We asked about getting dessert to go at the Tchop chop and were told that they did not do items "to go".

All I can figure is that an upscale eatery doesn't want the food being eaten cold or without the proper presentation. I figure that food from Tchoup chop cold is better than most fresh prepared things I eat normally elsewhere, but they probably want to preserve the perfection.
