restaurants you won't try

Japan, Japan, Japan! Since the DP has come in to play, the selection, service and quality of the food has gone down hill. The new decore is nice.

We have done Japan for the last two years and found the service to be fair to poor. They are very unacomidating for guest with minimal diet change request (moore noodles, less meat....oh, no you have to take meat!)

Choices for kids are too limited.

Haven't been to Disney yet, but I can say right now that there are a few we'll never eat at after spending waaaaay too much time reading dining reports and looking at menus.

- Hollywood and Vine. The reviews are really bad and my kids aren't THAT into Playhouse Disney that it would be worth it to put myself through that.

- Nine Dragons. We have fantastic, top-rated Chinese restaurants nearby. Why eat at a crappy one in Epcot?

- San Angel. We have amazing Mexican food nearby. If we want mediocre Mexican food, I'd rather eat at Taco Bell.

- Yak and Yeti. Same reasoning as Nine Dragons (although I may get the kids stuff at the CS at DAK b/c my kids love rice (esp. fried rice)).

- Liberty Tree Tavern (without characters). Too expensive for the menu.

Never say never! We're on a quest to eat at all the restaurants in DW, but I think we'll make Nine Dragons last on that list. I've eaten way to much Chinese in my day.

Biergarten, San Angel, T Rex, Rainforest, 1900 Park Fare, Hollywood and Vine, Yak and Yeti. Been to Rainforest, and Park Fare both were baad. Marrakesh, Tangerwhatever and Kouzzina because not into Med food Also Hollywood and Vine(Brown Derby) is NOT worth 2 ts.

Marrakesh= Dh has no interest, I don't know if I have enough interest to force it.
Nine Dragons= My DS will not eat anything on the menu
Rose and Crown= DID NOT like the fish and chips
Bistro= would only try Chef de France next trip planning on it.

Hollywood and Vine= been there done that YUCK! and I love buffets.
Brown Derby= I wouldnt give it 2 ts. I like too many of the other ones.

Animal Kingdom= Tusker dinner my DH loves Boma so I probably wont get there.
Yak and Yeti once again DH has no interest. I would like to try it.

Kat Kora menu not appealing to me and I was hoping it would.

T Rex and Rainforest: no interest, can find it elsewhere

brown derby: menu not appealing

plaza: no interest

chef mickeys: nothing special about the buffet

Marrakesh... no interest in that kind of food, plus I don't know if I want hubby and my boys around the belly dancer... ;)

I think that's the only one I really have zero interest in.

Some might be really low on my list priorities because of price and/or not much on the menu that I'm interested in... like Brown Derby, Mama Melrose's, Victoria & Albert's, and Kouzzina... but should there be favorable menu changes, price changes, dining plan changes, etc., or someone offers me a free meal there, I would give them a try.

The only restaurant that probably would not make it on my list is Tokyo Dining. I am not into seafood, especially sushi. I've been to Japan a couple of times and really did not like the food at all.

hmm .. i wouldnt want to eat at:
-the brown derby : ive read the menu and theres really nothing that jumps out at me
-marrakesh : again, ive seen the menu and i dont dig it!:snooty:
-victoria & alberts : i hear its a foodies' dream come true... but im plain and a bit picky so it probably wouldnt be worth it for me :confused3

Marrakesh- the food doesn't really appeal to me
Biergarten- again, I'm not really a fan of german food
The Plaza- I can get deli sandwiches and ice cream anywhere
Rainforest Cafe- can go there here in Toronto!

WOW, I have a pretty decent sized list! Here goes:

1. Mama Melrose (I'm way too picky about Italian food)
2. Tony's Town Square (same as #1)
3. Rainforest Cafe (ate at one in Niagara Falls and it was just OK)
4. Planet Hollywood (do I have to explain this one?)
5. Nine Dragons (we eat Chinese all the time at home and in NY we have excellent Chinese food so I don't feel like I am missing out)
6. Teppan Edo and Tokyo Dining (we also eat Japanese food often, both excellent sushi and excellent hibachi, at home, so don't feel like we are missing out)
7. Trail's End Buffet (if I'm going all the way to Ft. Wilderness, it would be either for HDDR or a campfire, nothing else)
8. ABC Commissary (just heard such horrible things about it)
9. Plaza Restaurant (it's just nothing special)
10. Casey's Corner (the only hot dogs I eat are either Nathan's, Hebrew National or straight from a NYC Kosher deli)
11. Liberty Tree Tavern dinner (no more characters so not worth the price to me)
12. Shutters at Old Port Royale (the menu just doesn't appeal to me...but I am open if they change the menu)
13. McDonald's!! (do I need to explain?)

I have a few "maybe's" as well (I guess Shutters could be considered a "maybe" based on my above comment...see #12). Here is the "maybe" list:

1. Rose & Crown (I could get fish & chips at the CS location but I may still try this place at some point)
2. Le Cellier (don't flame me please!! DH may want to go here, it's not a must-do for me, but I am not going to bend over backwards for an ADR either!)
3. Bistro de Paris (DH and I talk about doing a fancy dinner when both kids are both old enough to go to the kids' club at Beach Club Resort, and this is a consideration, although we lean more towards V&A, or Yachtsman Steakhouse if we don't want to spend quite as much as V&A costs!)
4. Raglan Road (I hear good things about it, so maybe if we could fit it into one of our trips)
5. Kouzzina dinner (I love Greek food, but a lot of their menu items have fennel which I literally come close to gagging on if I put it in my mouth or if there is any trace if it...maybe if I was ordering just a couple of appetizers)
6. Tutto Italia (it's off our list for the next trip, but we may still want to try it in the future. It's the only Italian restaurant I would ever even consider at WDW...see #1 & #2 of my "never" list)
7. Sci-Fi (too many negative reviews about the food at this point, but in the future when my boys are older, they might enjoy the atmosphere so maybe one time for lunch)

And, to add to this already long post, I will add restaurants I definitely want to try at some point:

1. Narcoossee's
2. Yachtsman Steakhouse
3. Kona Cafe breakfast and dinner
4. 1900 Park Fare breakfast
5. Marrakesh
6. San Angel Inn
7. Liberty Tree Tavern lunch
8. California Grill
9. Beaches & Cream
10. Fulton's Crab House
11. House of Blues
12. Flying Fish
13. The Wave
14. Garden Grove character breakfast
15. Boatwright's
16. V&A

My selections are in no particular order, in any of the lists!!

The only one I can really say never is Biergarten. The menu doesn't appeal to us at all and neither does eating at a table with strangers. The Ompa (sp?) band would make for a noisy dining experience.

There are several we are not rushing to such as Brown Derby, Trails End, Mickey's Backyard BBQ, Chef Mickey's, Maya Grill and Cap't Cook's.

Ones I haven't tried and have no desire to:
Hollywood and Vine
Brown Derby
Nine Dragons
House of Blues
Rainforest Cafe

Ones I have tried and have no plans to try again:
Chef Mickey's
Coral Reef
Mama Melrose
CRT

Ones we tried that were much better than anticipated:
Tony's
Olivia's (OKW)
Marrakesh

Nine Dragons... I don't think I have heard one good review for this place.

Really???:confused3,Ok here will be One:thumbsup2. Me and my DS make It a point to go there every trip!. We have the same every time,me Kung po chicken and my DS the sweet and spour chicken and then we share yummmm. For apptizer we get the hot and sour soup, here Its the best I have had, hands down and I eat alot of it:scared1:. Also we have the cucumber salad it quite good. Ok I do have one complaint there soda has to much syurp In It. But over all Its one of our favorit, but I to have seen alot of bad reviews, thats ok every one has there owen taste.:goodvibes

Victoria and Albert's---I'm not a "fancy" food person.

All of the Chinese/Japanese TS restaurants (sorry! I just don't care for that style food either).

Coral Reef. The texture of seafood creeps me out and I don't eat it, so that would pretty much limit my options here. lol

This Is really tough because I do not have a bad review of any place?:scared1: now I have had not so great reviews of meals, but Its like Its only been once or twice maybe??. But I have always gone back. The only real bad experice was at planet Hollywood, but this Is another place we goto every trip.

Nine Dragons. Why would you eat Chinese food on vacation if you have all of those other options?!

Teppan Edo. We have those around here. Plus, (I know this sounds terrible) I wouldn't want to get stuck sitting with a family whose party included a screaming baby or annoying kid. It's one thing when that happens near you, another when it happens at your table!

H&V. Not unless I went with my niece or nephew who like those characters.

50's PTC. Theme doesn't appeal to me at all.

Biergarten. Now this one makes me sad because I love all things German. But I'm a vegetarian and it's a buffet and I just don't see the point!

Whispering Canyon because of the atmosphere mostly. The menu also doesn't appeal.

Liberty Tree Tavern because heavy food from Stouffers just doesn't sound appealing while wandering around a themepark. (And I like Stouffers!)

1900 Park Fare and Akershus in it's current incarnation because we just don't care about characters much any more. I make an exception now for the Crystal Palace because I like the food and the restaurant is pretty to me. And Tigger is till kind of cool. :)

CRT is also pointless for us. Way too hard to eat at and why would we want to?
