Restaurants that have booths?

If anyone knows of restaurants with booths.... my autistic son has outgrown the highchair, but needs to be restrained in restaurants in case he decides to take off - after a character or after a nearby diner's food, or a mad dash to the buffet. Booths work great so I can block him in!

When we ate at Mama Melrose our last trip we were thrilled to see they had booths!
Are there any character meal restaurants that have booths that any of you can think of?
Otherwise, I need to figure out some way to keep him in a regular chair. He's great in Disney - but just needs a bit of restraint for his safety.
He got stuck really bad in a highchair at WCC, so won't be sticking him back in a highchair any time soon.
I'm also wondering, if find restaurants with booths, if I can have that noted somehow when making my ADR?
Thanks!

Those are the only ones that I can think of where we were seated in a booth or a 'half' booth (Booth bench on one side and chairs on the other side) I mentioned Jiko because they do, but it may be a difficult meal for your autistic son to sit through.

What I would do is make a note on your reservation - Autistic son requires booth (like they'd make a birthday note). This may help the hostess in assigning tables for the evening to make sure a booth should be becoming available around the same time of your reservation. Even though it's noted on the reservation, it's worth mentioning again at the podium.

Will you have a stroller? We liked our portable booster for our sons when they were too little for boosters without straps.

This looks really neat too - much more portable.

The booster sounds like a great idea.

Brown Derby does indeed have booths. Some others with full booths are the Wave and California Grill. Olivia's too I think.

Others with banquettes include Tutto Italia, San Angel Inn, Le Cellier, Flying Fish, Chefs de France and GF Cafe. I'm sure there are more.

I agree with Tricia about noting it with the reason when you make your reservation. Some/most of these restaurants have only a few.

ESPN Club has them too but with all the tvs it may be very stimulating.. each booth has a tv to play nintendo or game box too.. my son has cerebral pasly so we find booths much easier too.. Garden Grill is the best.. Libetty Tavern has them but only a few. Not worth the hastle trying to get.

Just remembered - Spoodles has them as well.

Just remember that some places have booths, but they are open on all sides (i.e. Chef Mickey's).

We had breakfast (w/ characters) at the Cape May Cafe and were seated in a booth that only opened on one end.

Enjoy your trip.

I know Cape May does, they have mini 2 seaters and larger ones.

Crystal Palace has the half booths, one side has a booth and one side has a chair...Jiko and Boma have the same thing

Beaches and Cream has a few

Kona has a few 2 seater booths

Sci Fi has car booths. the booths are set up like old cars at a drivein and one side is closed in so you could put him in first then slide in beside him and he'd be secured in the car booth.

We had a table at Hollywood & Vine that was booth on one side and chairs on the other. For ours at least, one side of the booth was blocked.

Liberty Tree Tavern had a "partial" booth. We are party of 5 and it was a corner booth L shaped with some outside chairs. We sat 3 on the inside booth part with 2 pull up chairs.

One I didn't see mentioned yet. . .Coral Reef has booths.

Oh, that's a good one as 2/3 of the tables are booths. Plus I wonder if the darkened setting and huge tank might not be mesmerizing for the OPs little one? It sure was for ours when they were small.

Thanks to all for the responses!
Those boosters look great - I'll have to look into them and see if they'll fit him. He'll be 7 and 60 pounds, so is tough. Currently he CAN be squeezed into a highchair - but when at WCC they had a different style than other restaurants did, and he got stuck. (had to lay him, with chair attached to him, on the floor to wiggle him out)

Cape May sounds like it will be great, and Garden Grill. May have to give Coral Reef a try! I forgot about Hollywood & Vine - we did get lucky with a booth there for breakfast!

We did have one of those half booths at Crystal Palace, but unfortunately they don't work - too easy for him to scoot over a little bit and start cudding up with the people at the next table (or steal their food - trust me, he's tried this before)!
I'm going to try to book ADRs for the ones with booths that we'd like, and then as for the other places - not sure what I'll do. Have been looking online for some type of harness or something for him, but everything seems to be made only for toddlers.

I know exactly how you feel, we have a 10 year old son with Autism and he is profoundly deaf as well. He does ok now sitting at a table, but we had this exact problem a couple of years ago. We actually bought an adult vest and sat him in the chair looped a belt through the back of the vest and fastened it to the chair, then zipped him into it. It was such a pain! I wish I had asked before hand which restaurants had booths! Excellent thinking! That bottom booster seat looks great as well!
