Are there any restaurants across Harbor from DL?

We are trying to find somewhere to eat dinners and save some $$$ from the rising prices at DL. We will be there for a week in June.

Personally I LOVE LOVE LOVE Mimi's! Great food, great portions, Great selections, and decent pricing. Also if you go to the mimi's website a week before your trip, you can print out a cupon for a free meal.

But if your travelling with kids, usually at Ihop or Denny's (on Harbor) if they are under a certain age, they eat for free no matter when you go. This saves you money too! Good Luck! :thumbsup2

Denny's didn't do kids eat free when we were there but we are usually there over the weekends so it's not normally offered then. :) Stay AWAY from Captain Kidd's, it's disgusting!!! The food is gross, my salad had slimy, wilted, see thru lettuce, the buffet isn't fresh either. The price is good until you see the food and then YUK!!! Don't eat at IHOP either, they have inflated prices and for the money you spend there you can eat in DL! Denny's is good, prices and food are standard Denny's fare. Millie's is good, Mimi's is good. Those are the places we generally eat on Harbor. :)

Not too much farther is the Garden Walk. We love California Pizza Kitchen, which is very close to the park. Mimi's is our second choice, followed by PF Changs.

Is Capt. Kidd's by the crosswalk to enter DL? If so, ITA the food is disgusting. I regretted going in.

My son calls Captain Kidds "Captain Cruds" (for good reason).
:lmao:

We ate at Tony Romas and Denny's during our last trip. Tony Romas totally had us kicking ourselves, as the food was twice as good and half the price as Blue Bayou. :confused3 Denny's was delicous - we had Belgian Waffles w/ fruit for breakfast one morning!

If nothing else, Round Table delivers pizza to the hotels on Harbor Blvd. We did that during our last trip, and will definitely do it during our next trip (still yet unplanned - although I told DH that him and I will need to fly down for a weekend this summer to see the 80z All Stars since they were rained our during out last trip, LOL) to Disneyland.

And good old McDonalds!

I agree that pf changs is great...however for the same amount of money you can certainly eat in the parks :goodvibes

This is one place to Google and see how bad the food is.

Read that for some shocking reports by the Health Department. Even if new owners buy that place it will live in infamy as being a bad place to eat.

I hope it's OK to piggy back on this thread.

I am trying to work out how the $$ stack up between eating out and getting a room with a kitchen. We aren't from the US so I don't know what kind of costs these restaurants charge and their sites don't help!

So could someone either tell me or tell me where to find the average cost of a meal at Dennys and Millys and perhaps somewhere like Cheesecake Factory.

Thanks so much.

I just wanted to add another perspective. If you want to enjoy a sit down restaurant then yes, eating outside the parks will most likely save you money (depending on where you go and what you order). But if you're just looking for something cheaper and don't care about if it's a regular sit-down type restaurant or not, then don't discount the counter service restaurants inside the parks or at the hotels. Since they are CS you won't have to pay a tip so it could be the same price (or possibly cheaper) than eating out at a regular restaurant plus you have the benefit of staying in the parks which will save you time and would be less walking. Don't forget you can also share meals to save money. DH and I split a meal at a CS restaurant at DLR plus later we each bought a snack and it was cheaper than when we went out to a regular restaurant in our home town. Just something to think about.

Also, if you go during a busy time, and you want to do dinner at the Gardenwalk, try going early because we were just there on Sunday night and it was really crowded. We got a late start heading out to dinner (clock in the hotel was wrong...) and when we got there around 7pm there were a ton of people waiting outside all the big restaurants. The food court was empty which made us wonder how fresh the food was if no one was ordering. So we ended up at Johnny Rockets which had quite a few people but no wait to sit down.

To the PP who wondered about restaurant prices, you could try going to the websites of different restaurants, sometimes they give prices on the menus but not always. If you want to see prices for DLR restaurants you can go to allears.net.
