DH and I are visiting family who live about 50 min north of Orlando before heading to WDW. We'll be leaving our family's home in one of the northern suburbs on a Monday morning. We plan to stop at a grocery store and then do an early lunch (maybe about 11am). I believe we'll be driving primarily on 417 and I-4.
We both LOVE to try new food and are looking for casual lunch recommendations. One option that was suggested to us is Rolando's Cuban Cafe in Altamonte Springs. It's seems like it's sort of on the way, although not in the most direct fashion, but perhaps we're deluding ourselves? (We don't want to have to go more than about 20-30 minutes out of the way.) Anyone have any opinions about this place? What about other recommendations? We do NOT want a burger joint or any sort of national chain restaurant. We're looking for something unique and different--a place the locals would eat!
Can you help us? TIA!
