What are some really good restaurants located in MGM that you would recommend??

If you have kids and are looking for something quick-Toy Story Pizza Planet is a really good deal.

Our family has never been impressed with the food at Sci-Fi, but the atmosphere is great. When our children were younger, it was a favorite spot. We have some cute family photos taken in our "car".
Let me suggest that you go for mikshakes or dessert only, and forget the entrees.

Prime Time is a fun spot, too, and the food is better. They even let my 13 year-old picky eater order the spaghetti o's off the kids menu (this was a few years ago).

i know there are mixed opinions -- but

we LOVED 50s Prime Time Cafe!!!

I would definately go there again!! The atmosphere is very fun and the food was fine. I had chicken pot pie and a peanut butter and jelly milkshake that was yummmmyyyy!!!!!!!!!

(we went for lunch - party of 7 with two children)

We always try to get to the Sci-Fi, although some people think the food is just so-so. If you have mid-size kids around 7-10, I think they, and you, would enjoy it.

Sci Fi for lunch is a must-do every trip for us. It's really more about the theming than the food, although the burgers and shakes are really good.

We love Sci-Fi, and the atmosphere just makes our 3 kids stop and go, "Ooooooooooo...." (which is a welcome relief to us parents! :) ) But I agree -- the "meals" are just not quite right. We've done the burgers -- they just seem overpirced. We've done the big meal salads... hmm, no. Nothing awful -- just not special. So my dh got shrimp pasta last time, and said it was quite good (way too much, but good); BIL and SIL each got some sort of entree and said it was ok. I, however, went for appetizers. Some spring rolls, a small salad with bleu cheese crumbles, and I think it was buffalo wings or some such thing... Very very tasty! Perhaps appetizers move on their menu faster than the entrees and therefore they are fresher (perhaps lots of folks go in for a "peek" at the atmosphere and get a small bite or shake?)

We like PT too, and last trip my sister and her crew went to Mama Melrose's. They had low expectations going in -- they were too tired to care! But they all came out raving about it. She's got me curious, I admit it! If you have kids that are drawn like magnets to video games -- avoid Pizza Planet. There's nothing special about the games except the way they eat time and money.

In 7 visits to Mama Melrose over the past 9 years we have only had 1 disappointing experience. We just had a great meal there last week and will be returning again in July.

We had 2 great meals at Mama Melrosie (sp?) last month. I just wish it wasn't at the farthest corner of the park.

we love Prime Time and Mama Melrose. Both were also big hits with my extented family (mom sis, Sis's BF, niece)

We like Mama Melrose a lot, and we've had good experiences there through the years. When we don't feel like having Italian food, though, Hollywood Brown Derby has made us happy. :)

We love the Brown Derby (we've eaten there more than 10 times in 7 years). Both lunch and dinner are wonderful and they have a nice wine selection. The creme brulee is delicious, as is the Cobb Filet on the lunch menu.

Prime Time is so much fun! The food is nothing fancy, but good all the same.

If you want a really good meal for dinner, I would take a short boat ride to the Boardwalk and eat at the Flying Fish. I find this reastaurant to be better than any in MGM and the boat ride is about 10 minutes

We went to the Brown Derby on the Fantasmic package and it was outstanding. The food was very good and the convenience of having a reserved seat for the show makes this a terrific deal IMHO.
Pizza Planet is a great place to rest up while the kids run around the game room. It kept my 11 yr old occupied long enough for me to catch my breath and have a soda before going back out into the heat. The pizza is pretty good too.
Sci-Fi is a all atmosphere. The restaurant itself is the attraction not the food. The food is kind of mediocre. Stop by in the middle of the afternoon after the lunch rush and get a snack. That way you can experience the place without blowing a lot of money on really ordinary burgers.
Those are the only places at MGM that I've eaten at. Hope that helps. Have fun.

We're thinking about doing the Fantasmic package too. I have 3 boys, 15, 12 and 10. Which would you all recommend, the Brown Derby or Mama Melrose?

Okay, you said exactly what I was going to say (except for the mom, sis, BF, and niece part).

DH and I had wonderful food and both places and I would gladly return to them the next time I visit the World.
