Restaurants for first time visitor

Seeing as we can book our restaurants from beginning of Feb, my friend and I have thought of the following and wondered what people thought, if they are any good or worth a miss!! they are all for dinner by the way! We are staying for 12 nights, on the DDP and were going to pay for HDDR OOP. At the moment, we can't think of other locations but are open to suggestions! Thanks

Restaurants are a matter of personal choice. I go for ones were the menu appeals to us.

I too tend to book the ones where I like the menu, but also might link it to a park that I will be in. Which hotel are you staying at? also are you planning on going to Disney Springs and do you want to book anywhere there?

We're staying at CSR, and had planned a lunchtime visit to Disney Springs, thought about visiting Cookes?

Tusker House and BOG are both amazing.

If you can book an early Tusker Lunch so you get both breakfast and lunch items!

CSR is lovely, we stayed there last year. I have only been to Cookes for take out a few years back and thought it was fine. We also like Wolfgang Puck express and Planet Hollywood which we have booked again for when we go at Christmas.

Best piece of advice we got on our first visit was an early breakfast reservation at Crystal Palace/Be Our Guest so you get into Magic Kingdom before it opens

Be doing this we were the first in the park on our first day there!

Great places!! If you want somewhere nice and quiet, without paying Signature places, The Wave is a favourite of mine, and is in walking diostance to MK for before or after. If you like Italian food, Via Napoli and Trattoria al Forno are both really good.

I did Be Our Guest last year and it was wonderful! But I really love Beauty and the Beast so milage may vary - they really go extra mile to make the dinner feel special. Me and my partner ended up ordering the meat and cheese platter + french onion soup because we were on a budget, was plenty there to fill us up and lots of unique flavours.

Also second that vote for Crystal Palace, though I believe you have to have a reservation to get in early. But really nice as while you can't really go beyond CP - Main Street is all yours for photo taking and gazing before the crowds get in. (just make sure you don't go on a day with early Magic Hours)

Also depending on the time your going - Epcot World Showcase usually has some special offerings.

Cinderellas Royal Table is lovely, especially for a first time visitor, as you get to eat in the castle, with the princesses. It also has the benefits mentioned above of early park access. Its a tough one to get a good reservation though. I think you might next 2 credits though, as its a signature. Don't do DDP so I'll someone else advise on that.

there is so many resturants to eat at disney, and for a first visit it can be overwhelming. and for every person that loves one place there is some that dont, i personnally feel they are all up to individual tastes. as we tried BOG and wasnt very impressed but others love it. other than the ones you have mentioned, i always recommend rainforest cafe, Sannaa & raglan road

Agree where it it comes down to taste.

Rainforest Cafe was very boring chain restaurant food for me.

Agreed it's all personal taste and sometimes for me it's about the experience as well as the food.
Best recent are Teppen Edo, Rainforest Cafe at AK, dinner at Cape May, best meal in years at House of Blues. Not so keen on Tusker House although character interaction was brilliant. Disappointed with dinner at BOG and will never, never, ever eat at Liberty Tree Tavern again!
