Restaurants at Swan & Dolphin question

Can anyone tell me whether you can use a Marriott gift card as payment at the restaurants at the S&D? I also read a suggestion about charging meals to the room, then using the Marriott GC to pay off room charges. Can anyone confirm whether this is allowed? Just trying to get my ducks in a row . Thank you!
