I was told to try this board out and I will. My son who is 4 is on a no red dye diet. The red dye put his metabolism out of whack if he has it. My parents were not believer of this till one day they were watching him and the gave him some food with red dye and saw his behavior. You will not believe the amount of food that had red dye fruit snacks, jello, cake mixes, cake frosting and the list goes on and on. From what I have heard from people on this great board is that table sit down restaurants would be the way to go. With this you are able to call in advance (or even when you make the reservation) and have them make a note of it. Will the chef's at disney be able to handle a request like this? I know this is a unusual request but any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The chefs at Disney should certainly be able to handle that type of problem. Of course, the uual precautins would apply, no colored fruit drinks or beverages. In general, I think most restaurant food, except desserts, are pretty much free of any added food coloring at Disney. The "snack" foods and candy would be a problem.

Mention the problem when you make the ressie, and again when you check-in for the restaurant. I noticed the restaurants on our last trip had started asking about allergies at check-in and the servers were asking, too.
