What on earth do payments have to do with price? Nobody asked you how you paid for your cars.

You asked how I got the best deal. I told you. It has nothing to do with price. Where did I mention WHAT I paid. For all you know I bought those Hundais on that two for one special last year! :rotfl:

Paying cash isn't the way to get the best deal. Dealers make the vast majority of their profit from financing. They will not give you the best deal for paying cash, it defys logic to imagine they will. If you want the best deal, you act as if you will be financing until you get the price where you want it. Then you whip out the checkbook. And FYI- nobody asked you how to get the best deal, they simply asked if you would try to get a deal, period. Not to mention that I didn't ask you anything Diszydean did.

That's true. Not "saying a word" will result in you paying what the salesperson wants you to pay, and not the price that is in your best interest.

"Most consumer advocates recommend that shoppers refuse to discuss monthly payments and instead focus on the sale price. Put off all questions about your other intentions by saying you don't know what you're going to do with your current car or whether or not you will finance — with the dealer or elsewhere — or pay cash. Answering those questions just complicates matters. The only thing that matters in your price negotiation is one thing: the price."

Oh my. There are two of you. Well let's just say I got the best deal. I know it and that is all that counts. Heaven forbid I elaborate any further!

"Two of you"? I guess, marriage does take man and wife and make them "as one". If you're happy with your deal that's all that counts. And I'm sure normal car buying strategy doesn't count when you're in the Rolls Royce showroom anyway, my bad. :rotfl2:

I would just like to add that all people from Maryland aren't all snobby!! :woohoo:
Wow! Now we have someone that namecalls. How classy.

Wow is all I can say. I have never read such nonsense in all my life. I for one am one of those who has to scrimp and save just to get to Disney. We have never had enough money to afford the DDP and we have to live on, what did DaisyD call it "CS garbage". We are hoping that they offer the free dining plan when we go again so that we can have the opportunity to try some of the restaurants that otherwise would be out of our reach. Just paying OOP for upgrades is not for everyone.

Whether or not you like the DDP is a personal choice but why on earth would you look down upon people who do like it. Personally, I'm glad you can pay for everything out of pocket, buy major items by paying cash and never have to worry about money. I wish that was my life and I would hope for that for everyone here on the DIS. Unfortunately thats not reality for most of us.

Maybe people should take a break and think about what is really important here...spending time with family and friends, not throwing a credit card or gobs of cash around.

That DaisyD is a real number, huh? Check out some of her posts. Pure comedy. However, I do believe she is for real so therefore, you might say tragedy.

Go Daisy, Go! Keep those posts coming. I love to read them! popcorn::
