Can someone help me with restaurant suggestions for Magic Kingdom.
We plan to arrive our first day and then head over to the Magic Kingdom and then during the course of our stay, we will visit MK for another full day. We will be staying at the Boardwalk so I am looking for a good restaurant (on DDP) for dinner that is either in MK or I was thinking one of the monorail resorts?? Thanks!! :) Also, we have tween boys that have no interest in dining with characters. :confused3

liberty tree tavern is served family style. it is thanksgiving type food. we enjoy the plaza, also in MK. the portions are huge. any of the MK resorts would be a great choice. don;t forget fort wilderness has a great buffet--trail's end. this might a crazy question, but are your boys big eaters???:yay:

I'm not to keen on any restaurants inside the MK for dinner, I would say Liberty Tree Tavern but only for lunch. As far as a good recommendation I would recommend either the Grand Floridian Cafe OR Kona Cafe.

I like 'Ohana at the Polynesian resort. It is family stlye, like Liberty Tree Tavern, so your growing boys can eat as much as they want! I ate at Liberty Tree Tavern in December, but I wasn't too impressed. The theming was nice and the mashed potatoes and apple cobbler was good, but that was about it! I've always enjoyed 'Ohana, but I do have to admit bread pudding is my absolute favorite, so that could be part of the reason why I love it so much!:rotfl: Also, the Plaza at MK might be good for a relaxing bite. I also want to try the Wave at the Contemporary. Maybe you could look into those! Hope that helps!

Even though Crystal Palace is a character buffet the food there is great! I highly recommend it. It is in MK so you don't have to leave the park you can get in and eat, you don't have to partake in the characters. Just eat your meal at your pace and head right out pretty much on Main Street.
If you are thinking a counter service meal, Cosmic Rays is great as well. You can sit down to eat inside and enjoy your meal. The food is great there as well. We look forward to eating there.

Outside the park I can recommend Whispering Canyon Cafe at WL. We love that restaurant. They have a BBQ all you can eat skillet with beef, pork and chicken, along with sides that is fabulous. Also can handle boys with big appetites.
Then at the Poly there is Ohana, it is all you can eat buffet style as WCC. It is more Hawaiian food, meat skewers, I believe turkey, pork and steak. They also have the best wings on the property, at least as far as I am concerned.
We have eaten at the above places and highly recommend them all.

So do I! We are a family of adults and don't go to CP for the characters, but rather the food. Great selection and all delish. Our other favorite in MK is LTT for lunch.

We had a great meal at Tony's. And being Italian it's hard to eat Italian out. This was really really good.
Also if you want a Buffet CP was really good to.

If you are looking for TS in MK I would say that Crystal Palace is really the only good one. The Palace Restaurant is also good but kind of between TS and CS and very small.

To be honest in the MK the best choice for lunch is Kona and the best for dinner is The Wave in my opinion.

We absolutely love The Plaza on Main Street. The menu consists of sandwiches and salads, so if you're looking for larger entrees you'll want to go elsewhere, but we absolutely love the offerings. They also serve wonderful ice cream creations for dessert.

The restaurant is a bit small, but I like that. It feels very "personal" if that makes any sense. The servers have always been wonderful and full of Disney Magic and the prices are just a bit higher than counter service prices yet the food is so much better. The fries, in particular, are (IMO) the best at WDW.

We've tried all of the restaurants in the MK and the Plaza is the only one that we consistently return to. In fact, it's a must-do for us on every trip! The others are okay, but nothing special, IMO.

I agree wholeheartedly - just ate at The Plaza on 9/11 and had a very good chicken sandwich w/fries & mint chocolate chip milkshake for dessert :thumbsup2 As for dinner regarding a monorail resort - we like Ohana for the relaxed polynesian theming and lots of tasty dishes along with a variety of good meats served from skewers.
