We will be taking a trip for 4 days to Universal first the first time this December!! We are staying at the Hard Rock Hotel and since we have never been to universal before we were wondering what everyone suggests to do for dinner? What Restaurants do u like? Can you make reservations before hand and how long in advance? We plan on doing the Spiderman breakfast, and now ive been reading about the Scooby dinner at "the kitchen"?? Looking for some reviews!! Thankss!!!!

Can't really help, but a lot of DISer's like Mythos @ IOA......

We have liked the Citywalk Restuarants Jimmy Buffets Margritaville, Hard Rock Cafe both are basically Finger Food, But Portions are large and tasty. Atmosphere is a plus at boths. Never ate at Mythos, but the inside is very nice and is an in the park restuarant. Reservations can be made, I don't know how far in advance though. Emerls has two locations. One in City Walk and the Other in the Royal Pacific. Never ate there but was able to get reservations in July, Same day. Didn't use them. Very Good Restuarants at Portofino, including Bice Very $$$$$ Expensive.

Most restaurants mentioned are good.
Avoid ordering seafood and stick to simple things. Considering the amount of people they serve, you won't find seafood that will "wow" you at a park restaurant.
Visit Mythos for lunch and bring the leftovers back to your room to snack on later. The Wrap of the Day is a great choice, so is the BBQ Burger.
At the Hard Rock Cafe, order the jumbo combo appetizer and share it. Casedias are good, nachos are just ok.

I really like the fajitas from either Confisco Grill or Hard Rock. I can't really say that one place is better than the other.

I also like two other CityWalk restaurants that haven't been mentioned for spicier foods-- Latin Quarter and Bob Marley A Tribute to Freedom. Latin Quarter has an Express Window where you can get food to go. I normally get the chicken with rice and beans. At Bob Marley's, I like the "reggae." It's jerk chicken breast on skewers and it comes with yucca fries. I always substitute rice and beans for the fries.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. I've had FANTASTIC seafood several times at Mythos, which is our favorite.
We also really liked Tchoup Chop and the Latin Quarter. In US we like Lombard's Landing.

We also like NBA City, but usually just get sandwiches, salads and appetizers, everything has been good. Usually don't have to wait, atleast not very long. Prices are reasonable as well. If anyone in your group likes basketball they will love the atmosphere.
