We are going to be going to Universal the first of July for 4 days. Our children our 6ds and 8dd. Which restaurants do you recommend for this age AND which ones do you have to make ressies at? We will be staying at HRH.

Thanks!

My 6 and 10 year olds favorites:

1. Margaritaville at City Walk (stick around to watch the volcano erupt) Always a first stop to get the HUGE chocolate layer cake.

2.NBA City, decent food fun surroundings.

3. Hard Rock Cafe, The kids love it, its loud and crazy and has decent food.

4.They LOVE Mama Della's at Portofino and so do I!! Really warm fun and friendly atmosphere and they have a kids menu. Delicious food. Order a marshmallow shake!

5. Give Mythos a try, kids may not love atmosphere but the food is great!

6.Confiscos used to be fun when they could draw on the paper covered tables...oh well.

7.Sorry I cant recommend any eateries at Hard Rock used to love the Sunset Grill but have been told it just aint what it used to be.

8.Have a sundae at Schwabs at Universal.

9.take a peek inside circus mcgurkus at IOA kids seem to like it there.

10. Green eggs and ham at IOA one morning just for the novelty!

Have Fun:)

I agree with Hard Rock Cafe, but go at night for dinner instead of lunch. The atmosphere is much more fun at night. You can't make reservations, but get in the preferred seating line and show your Hard Rock Hotel card. We were seated upstairs near the railing and could look down to the bar below.

I'd say just about all the restaurants are kid-friendly and have kid's meals.

My 10 year old and I had lunch at Margaritaville one day and we both really enjoyed it. We also had pretty good food one evening at the Nascar Cafe. We did not have reservations which was no problem but we were there during a quiet time.

The only places we ate inside the parks were Mel's Diner in Universal which I didn't care for and the Enchanted Oak tavern, an attractive counter service restaurant that was quite good. We walked through the Monster Cafe and wish we'd tried it because the theming is cute for kids if they like monsters.

Comic Strip Cafe (decent chicken & fish strips) for lite lunch. Toon characters wander around at this time and hit the tables with kids.
Also, Burger Digs is tasty, with excellent scenery inside & out on the balcony. Then go downstairs after lunch and play You Bet Jurassic!
Both in IOA.
