I have plenty of food pictures, but none with people eating in them!

Okay since we aren't doing well on today's picture :p

Here is a recipe:

African Stew (Mara)

4 cups water
3 each chicken bouillon cubes
1/3 cup curry paste (or can be dry curry)
2 Tablespoons ground coriander, toasted
2 Tablespoons granulated garlic
4 cups coconut milk
¼ cup sugar
3 Tablespoons soy sauce
2 pounds beef/pork/chicken, large diced
2 cups mixed red and green peppers, diced
2 cups onions, diced
½ cup whole kernel corn, frozen
1 bay leaf
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 Tablespoons cornstarch (make slurry)

In kettle, heat water, chicken bouillon cubes, curry paste, ground coriander, and granulated garlic. Let boil and add in sugar and coconut milk.
Add in the soy sauce and the diced meat. Let simmer for 20 minutes.
Add vegetables, spices, and cook until tender.
Bring to a boil and add cornstarch slurry slowly to the mixture and whisk until thickened.

NOTE: This is the recipe as it was sent by the chefs at Animal Kingdom Lodge. However, reader Mose writes: Just wanted to let you know that there seems to be an error in this recipe for the African Stew at Mara. The recipe calls for 3 cups of soy sauce. I thought that sounded like a little much, so I dialed it back to about half of that. Still, when I tasted the stew, it didn't taste anything like the real thing. In fact, it tasted like soy sauce. Nothing but soy sauce. Soy sauce soup. I think maybe the recipe should have been 1/3 cup of soy sauce, instead of 3 cups. The next time I make this recipe, I will try 1/3 cup and see how it turns out.

Sounds good Nancy, wonder how important coconut milk is to the recipe? or could I use just regular milk? John is allergic to coconut.

I suppose you could sub.....it wouldn't taste quite the same, but coconut milk is pretty subtle.

A recipe: Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup from Le Cellier (I have made it and it is yumm!! We are serving it on Christmas eve!!)

Makes 10:

1/2 pound bacon, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
1 medium red onion, cut into 1/4 inch pieces
3 celery ribs, cut into 1/4 inch pieces
4 tablespoons butter
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups chicken stock
4 cups milk
3/4 pound grated white cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon tobasco sauce
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
salt, and freshly ground pepper to taste
1/2 cup warm beer (needs to be double fermented, we use a German beer from our local supermarket although it might be easier for you to find a Canadian double fermented beer)
Chopped scallions or chives, for garnish.

1) In a 4 or 5 quart Dutch oven, cook the bacon, stiring over medium heat for about 5 minutes, or until lightly browned.
2) Add the red onion, celery and butter, and saute until the onion has softened, about 5 minutes.
3) Add the flour and cook, stirring constantly, for about 4 minutes over medium heat.
4) Whisk in the chicken stock and bring to a boil for 1 minute. Reduce to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5) Add the milk and continue to simmer for 15 minutes. Do not boil after you add the milk.
6) Remove from the heat and stir in the cheese, tobasco sauce, worcrstershire sauce, salt and pepper until the cheese is melted and the soup is smooth. Stir in warm beer. if the soup is too thick, add some warm milk.
7) Serve the soup hot, garnished with chopped scallions or chives.

I have several Disney recipe books should anyone want anything. I even had to go out and buy American ingredient measures as we measure things in pounds/ounces or grams/kg here in the UK!!

And a picture.
My mum and I ordered a warm sandwich to share at the fantasia bar in the Disneyland hotel at Disneyland Paris (I adore this hotel as the main restaurant where you eat breakfast each morning included in your room rate looks straight down Main Street towards the castle!) Anyway, here is the sandwich we got! I took the picture as I liked the plate!

I guess our funniest is still going to the Halloween parties (both times we went) and having people want to take our pictures :rotfl:

Hmmmm....guess that wasn't a very popular question....not even the person that submitted it answered :rotfl:

Our funniest moment actually really isn't that funny but was for us. My friend had just bought a new camera and was like a member of the press! After the trip we shared photos and there were pictures of us that we were unaware had been taken!! There were several pictures of me and her husband taken through a hedge when we were waiting for her and Pete to bring back our coffees at WL. Then there were pictures of me taking pictures of teh Osbourne Lights (she kept popping up from behind bins!) Then there were the 25 pictures of me eating an icecream, it was the same icecream as I only ate 1 the whole 2 weeks but I looked so greedy!! That became an in joke and my friend enlarged one of those pictures onto canvas for my birthday present and it is now hung on our wall (I actually really like it as I had had a really hard year and she said it was the 1st time in 12 months she had seen me be truely happy.)

My funniest moment came on our 4th day at the mouse. We were in CA when DH and the kids wanted to do GRR. DH insisted that the middle seat was the driest, so I chose to believe him, and sat in the middle seat. Well, on the first drop the raft went down sideways....and you guessed it, a large wall of water came over the raft and drenched me from head to toe. So much for the middle seat being the driest. The kids wanted to ride it again, so we raced around to the front of the ride, and did again (as I couldn't get any wetter than I already was). I loved your 12 days of fast food, and I had a major chuckle out of it.

What comes to my mind is the time several of us adults were at one of Scoop's pin talks in Expo Hall.
We were all discussing who had come the furthest, etc. Many of us there were meeting a fellow pin person/trader who was visiting from Belgium.
During our conversation this was mentioned to Scoop.
Just happens standing nearby doing nothing was Snow White. No one was around her at all.
Scoop yelled over to SW telling her we had a guest from Belgium in our group. And he asked SW, "Isn't that near where you are from?"
She replied, in her soft dainty voice, "Oh no. I am from the Black Forest." (Very soft, innocent voice, and was holding her hands as if in prayer up against one side of her cheek, switching hands from cheek to cheek, slightly tilting her head and looking very demure.)
Scoop yelled back, "What!? You're getting a divorce?!"
We all just cracked up. :rotfl:
SW did not miss a beat and replied, Oh my no. And repeated she came from the Black Forest. (Still looking very demure and innocent.)
