Restaurant Reservations

I'm a Universal newbie. I'll be staying at the HRH in February (President week) for 4 nights with my family of 4.

Do I need to make lunch or dinner reservations for the restaurants at Universal Parks/Citywalk/Universal Hotels or can we just walk in most places?

If I do need to make reservations, do you have any suggestions? My kids are 13 and 10.

Is there a central telephone number to make reservations or do I have to contact each restaurant individually?

I'd appreciate any advice you can give me. Thanks --

This is the first time I've ever had an answer; I'm always asking the questions. I posted a very similar question on the parks forum and got some good responses. The title is: Do you need to make priority seatings?. Also, I found this too:

You may now make priority seatings at Universal restaurants up to 30 days in advance....

The following restaurants allow you to make priority seatings...

- Confisco Grille
- Mythos
- Lombard's Seafood Grille
- Motown Cafe
- Margarittaville
- Latin Quarter
- Pastamore

You can make reservations by calling the "Dining Line" at 407-224-9255.

The reservations line is open 365 days per year from 8am-7pm.

We are going to US for the first time in March and staying at the Royal Pacific. I hope it is as fun as it sounds.

there isnt really any need to make reservations at any restaurant (except many Emeril's). my family of 6 and i dont usually ever have to wait to be seated.

It depends on when you are going. During peak times, we have had 1 - 2 hour wait times at restaurants on Citywalk. I would make priority seatings just to be safe.

By stayiing at the HRH you get "next available seating" by showing your room key. You need advance reservation for Emeril's and Tchoup Chop.
