We will be going to WDW over Easter. I know that reservations to the special events such as Hoop dee doo and Poly Luau are a necessity, but do you need to make dinner reservations at ALL restaurants prior to your vacation, or can you just walk in and place your name on a list? I know Easter is a very busy time, but I hate to over-plan, and then be locked into a dinner reservation which may not coincide with that day's plans. Thanks.

We will also be in WDW for Easter. I have PSs for every day. Easter is very busy and I would rather have peace of mind that we have somewhere to eat than worry about where we are going to eat. If the PS doesn't fit in to our plan for the day I just call and cancel. I rather be safe than sorry.:Pinkbounc

I agree! During busy times you will find that pretty much everything is booked, even less desirable places! So I'd make PS's as soon as you can, and then just cancel that day if you dont want them. Otherwise, plan on eating most meals a quick service places!

This happened: once went to Crystal Palace on Thursday before Easter at about 6. Family of four walked up without a PS and asked the CM for the next available seating time. He looked at the computer screen for a while, clicking away, and then answered, "Tuesday at 8:30." For dinner times, during the Easter holiday season, PS's are mandatory at park restaurants and virtually so even at resort restaurants. Nevertheless, you can get PS's for many resort restaurants by calling day before or morning of, but will have less luck doing so with many park restaurants. For Easter Sunday, when everyone makes a PS, it is best to make ressie well in advance if you want to eat at a sit-down restaurant anywhere in WDW.

I too, agree that PS's are a must for busy times. I have PS's for every day also. I am finding that even when I call ahead to change a few of them that things are booked solid. I did make a few mistakes in planning. I planned to spend the entire day in each park that has early entry. I should have planned to hop if the crowds are going to be heavy. However some of my PS's are at resorts rather than parks and if it is really crazy I should still be OK even if I hop. This would not have been my first choice of times to go but for many reasons we have decided to brave it. The upside is that the temp's should be perfect! If the parks are crazy we will head for the pool! TRACY
