Firstly, thanks for the pinned thread above about restaurants. I have been scanning through it and it includes heaps of useful info.

However, because it’s very big thread, please forgive this separate thread so I can ask a few specific questions.

1. Do you think reservations will be necessary for Universal restaurants (in the parks and Citiwalk) the week before Xmas (16-18Dec)? We will be staying at RPR so will get priority seating at most places.

2. Can anyone recommend any good Universal vloggers who also showcase some of the dining options. I’ve found some good ones who showcase WDW and Universal (e.g This Orlando Life) and plenty who just talk about Butterbeer, but I am interested in further suggestions.

3. I’ve read that Antijitos has live entertainment on specific nights. Does anyone know what those specific nights are, or are they just chosen at random?

4. Lastly, if you could only eat at only 2 Citiwalk restaurants, what two would you pick and why? There are so many great choices there and we are as interested in good atmosphere as we are in good food.

Thanks everyone.

That week is before schools are out, so it shouldn't be too crowded. If you want to eat at Mythos, I would make a reservation. You don't have to go crazy - just a few days in advance. While they aren't always necessary, the last time I was waiting to be seated, I saw quite a few people instructed to come back in 2 hours. The theming is great though.

DD and I like Cowfish in CityWalk a lot. It is a small chain, so if you have that at home, you might want to try something else. The priority seating has always gotten us in pretty fast. If memory serves correctly, they don't take reservations, but you can call ahead and be put on the list.

If you want to eat at Mythos...

And you do! Mythos is great. It's probably the only Uni restaurant you'd need a reservation for, and you shouldn't have to make it too far in advance. The inside of that restaurant is stunning and the food is great too. I am usually underwhelmed by the food at Uni, but Mythos is the exception, and it is exceptional.

I loved Toothsome and can't wait to get back. Also enjoyed the Red Oven Pizza for a cheaper meal, and Bread Box for fast and also cheaper after parks closed.

During a busy week, I made a reservation at Mythos the day before as they were consistently busy at typical lunch times (as in, an hour plus wait without ressies). But they had availability at off times same day. Note if you've got picky eaters - there are items on the menu that they can't subtract ingredients from (paninis).

Thanks so much everyone. I think I will make a reservation for Mythos.

We were last at Universal about 5 years ago and the only Table Service restaurants I can remember eating at were Mythos, Bubba Gumps and The Kitchen at HRH.

Foodwise, Mythos was definitely the star and we loved that the menu included more than just burgers and fries. Plus, compared to Disney restaurants, it was very reasonably priced. I think my whole family would be very happy to eat there again.

I now need to decide on a few dinner places.

Another question sorry:

How far in advance does Universal announce timings for parades, night shows etc? I know that their new night show is technically still in rehearsal stage, but I’d still be keen to know timings, so any reservations I do end up making are made around these shows.

Diagon Alley didn’t exist when I was last at Universal, and I can’t tell you just how excited I am that we will be returning. Love Universal!
