Restaurant Poll Series: California Grill

Sorry, nay sayer here. We had relatively slow service and just alright food (have actually had as good, if not better, food at many 1 TS restaurants.) We just were not impressed with the food.

As for the ambiance -- NOT! Very noisy/busy/crowded. And the "view" hah! They actually had the blinds closed while we were there...apparently a lot of patrons complained about paying for the view & not getting it because about 1/2 way through the meal they raised the blinds about 10 inches...enough so that if you scooched down in your seat you could kind-of see the Magic Kingdom.

Near total-waste of 90 minutes & 2 table service credits. After we work our way through the rest of the Disney restaurants, we might try it again...maybe. Have been to about 35 table service restaurants so far, have about 20 more we want to try.

I just wanted to say that I think this is normal depending on the time of day and time of year you go. The blinds are closed when the sunlight would be in diners' eyes, and the staff gradually raise them as the sun sets. At least, that's what happened when I was there a few years ago.

I really miss the Souffle oven though. But we enjoy CG alot.

Yea! We like CG a lot. Their flatbreads are delicious. The view isn't bad, either I want to take BF there so he can try the sushi.

Nay, but only because it is over-rated due to its location. If it were on the ground floor it would be no more popular than Narcoossee's or Citrico's. Good food, yes, but over hyped due to the view, which is only good near a window. Aside from that the place is very noisy, hectic, and not at all "romantic" due to the constant movement and noise. We'll go back at some point, but not until we've tried everything else first. Too much of a hassle, too little payoff in return.

This was by far the best signature resturant we ate at in March and ate at 8 signature places in March.

Billy our server was fantastic! Sushi was the best (according to DH) DD's loved their meal and it is, according to Billy, the only resturant on property where the kids can order from the adult meal with the dining plan. They both ordered the filet and ate every single bite!

We are eating here 2 times in October

A definite yay for us but the main appeal was the sushi appetizers and with appetizers no longer included on the Dining Plan we have stopped going to CG.
