I just booked Restaurant Marrakesh. I had originally booked Cinderella's castle for dinner but was told that they did not have table that would fit all 8 of us so we would be at two tables of 4. That didn't sound like much fun. Now I'm trying to figure out which one to cancel.

Cast of Characters:
Me (26), DH (27), Bros (24 & 22), Mom & Dad, Swedish Sis 28 and her DH 30. Dad is really picky (mexican food scares him).

I'm interesting in hearing what people have to say about the food here, especially about the seasoning. I have never eaten Moroccan food before so I don't know what to expect when they say "Moroccan seasoning". Hot, strong, what?

I appreciate your help in making sure I don't kill my father. :earboy2:

The restarurant is very nice, has large tables and the food is interesting. It is not hot, as in mexican or thai but different, very mediterrainean. There is also music and a belly dancer. I'm sure that your family will love it. Marrakesh is one of the undiscovered restauranats at Epcot. Go and have a good time.

we ate there last year. i am not an adventurous eater, the food was tasty and not too spicy. to be honest, i went for the belly dancer.

You should have a good time at Restaurant Marrakesh. The food is neither hot nor spicy in the Mexican sense. The tastes are different -- such as a beef brewat roll (minced beef inside a pastry roll covered with cinnamon). Most of the dishes are somewhat mild in flavor -- and this comes for a very non-adventurous eater.

For your dad, I'd recommend trying the beef brewat rolls as an appetizer (if you're doing the dining plan), then the chicken kabobs for the entree. These are very mildly seasoned and he might not even notice the seasoning. It comes with a sauce which the kitchen could put on the side. The sauce is also mild -- almost like a very mild red sauce. Other options would be the shish kabobs (beef) or lemon chicken (but I'd order this only if he likes garlic -- otherwise, avoid that option).

For dessert, the bastilla or Crepes Atlas are wonderful ways to finish off the meal.

I ate at the counter service last week and I am sorry I did not do the TS, maybe that is because I love mederterian food, it isnt to spicy but justthe right flavor, go and have fun, ya never know it could turn out to be your favorite food

We ate there for the first time last summer and loved it. It has great atmosphere and the wait staff was very friendly. I'm not that adventurous of any eater and I thought the food was good - not overly spicy and definitely not hot. Make sure you stay and watch the entertainment!

We had our 2nd lunch here a few weeks ago. It is one of my husbands favorite WS restaurants and he is a reall "meat and potatoes" type guy. I am not adventerous and I loved my beef Shish Kabob.
Tigger_Magis's suggestions were very good.
The Bastilla for desert was simply divine - The single best thing I ate the whole week.
The wait staff are wonderful, attentive, but not overbearing.
Go and enjoy.

My ex-GF loved the food here and she was the pickiest of picky eaters. Nothing is too spicy, and I have enjoyed every meal I've had here immensely.

We love this restaurant and are definately NOT adventerous eaters. We loved the beef brewat rolls as an appetizer the chicken and beef shish kebabs as the entree with rice and the apple crepes for dessert. It is Soooo good. the kebabs sit in a very mild but well seasoned tomato sauce. very, very good!

We loved Marrakesh! You won't be disappointed. The food is flavorful but not "run from the table" spicy at all. I'm sure your dad will do fine. The meal we had there was one of our favorites of the whole trip! Enjoy! :goodvibes

My sister (I am 55 she is 62) and I ate there...Now my whole group..(which includes four kids and six adults) are eating there in February....I think the grandchildren will love it...so will the guys! :rotfl: The food was excellent and the entertainment was too...It was fun. We are also going to Cinderella's Breakfast... :Pinkbounc

marrakesh was one place i so looked forwards to and left horribly disappointed.

the food is mild, not at all heavily spiced. beware of the appetizers that have the powder sugar on them.........yuck

tables are so closed together, a waiter could not get thru them.

i had to have my food sent back as it was not cooked as requested, then it took about 20 minutes to get it again with the same problem

the tangerine cafe is far more superb than marrakesh.

Marrakesh is my family's favorite Epcot restaurant. Even my picky kids (13, 5, and almost 3 yo) love it! The food is just different enough. (I don't like to have meals out that I can make just as well, or better, at home.)
