Anyone been recently? This is one place we have been nervous to try but I am thinking about adding it in during our August trip. Would love to see pictures and hear any reviews.

NOTE: Restaurant Marrakesh serves flavorful specialties,
using a long list of herbs and spices including saffron. A
favorite appetizer is bastilla, or fried pastry, that combines
layers of the pastry with chicken seasoned with almonds, sugar
and cinnamon. During lunch and dinner, a belly dancer entertains
with live Moroccan music (sensual, but not at all risque).

DH and I were there several years ago. It was without a doubt the worst meal I have ever had. Soggy tasteless food.

Unfortunately, I would have to agree with the above. For some reason Morocco has pretty much the worst TS in the World as far as the food goes. The interior of the restaurant is nice, and the CS outside is one of the best in the World.

As with any restaurant in WDW, YMMV.

We ate there earlier this year. We had never been before but DH wanted to try new places. I approached the meal with great trepidation (and a private intention of using a snack credit on our way out of Epcot for something to munch on in the room later that night) - I do not like highly spiced food.

Darned if it wasn't one of the best meals we had all week!

DH had the Mogador fish. It was a white fish marinated with olives and was rather spicy; he offered me some and I did not like it at all. But the important thing was that he did. I had the Couscous M'Rouzia. The on-line menus give different descriptions of this dish. What I got was a big plate of couscous (which, by itself, is pretty bland) mixed with a lot of chunks of incredibly tender beef in a nice non-spicy sauce (like a thick but not smoky BBQ sauce) and small tender plums that had been cooked in a sticky honey type sauce. Sounds strange but cut up and mixed together it tasted great. The couscous is enough of a 'base' flavor that the beef and the fruit just made little accents. That beef had to have slow-cooked for the entire day. It was fork-tender and I never got any fat.

I'd say to give it a try.

I admit I haven't been here in a few years, but last few times I was there, I loved this place.

I love the couscous (so light and fluffy) as well as the shish kabobs. it's meat on a stick! What's not to like?

It can get a bit loud cause there's so much tile that reflects noise.

Plus sometimes you can get in without an ADR because some people think the food will be "scary" LOL.

Thank you all for the advice. We aren't nervous about the food in general but the negative reviews have scared us off! I agree that Tangierine is one of the best CS places. Not sure what I am going to do about this one ... hmm....

We love this restaurant. I am not an adventersome eater, but like to try new things. We have been several times and always been pleased.
You are going to find both positive and negative reviews on every restaurant. We don't like Yachtsmen Steakhouse and will not go back - miost love it.
Every one's taste is different. If the menu interests you, I say give it a try!!
